Chapter 1677: Chapter 1667: Not Planning to Get Married
Olivia Lewis patted the head of the golden retriever that was biting her pants leg and got into the car without looking back.
Adam Sinclair watched as she got into the car.
Only when the car drove away did he retract his gaze.
The noblewoman called him several tis, but it was as if he didn’t hear.
“Adam.”
“Adam.”
Finally, he seed to co back to his senses, but didn’t reply. He took his long strides into the villa.
Before coming back, his heart was filled with joy.
After coming back, his plans were completely shattered.
Adam felt as if there was a heavy stone pressing on his chest. Thinking of Olivia Lewis’s behavior just now and the way she didn’t look back when she left, he knew that today’s efforts were in vain.
That woman’s heart had hardened again.
Mrs. Sinclair followed him into the villa and saw him silently tearing off his tie, looking very annoyed. She furrowed her brows and asked, “What’s going on with you and that young model? Your dad found out and is asking .”
“Which young model?” Adam replied indifferently, as he went to pour himself a glass of water.
Mrs. Sinclair was extrely angry, her brows furrowed even tighter, “The one you gave a car to a while ago.”
“You an that one?” Adam took a sip of water and, under her gaze, said calmly, “We broke up.”
He said they broke up as if he were talking about having a al, drinking water, or comnting on the weather or the wind.
Not a trace of emotion was in his tone.
It was this nonchalant attitude that made Mrs. Sinclair even angrier, “When did you break up? How co I didn’t know?”
“When? Let think… probably the day I gave her the car…”
“The reason?”
“She showed eight teeth when she smiled, and it was too ugly?”
“She cried out of excitent, and her mascara ran?”
“She opened the new car door with her left hand first?”
He listed several ridiculous reasons, then looked at Mrs. Sinclair and said, “I forgot, it was probably one of those. Whichever one.”
“Adam!” Mrs. Sinclair watched him put down his water glass, her eyes filled with anger and disappointnt, “What have you been doing lately? Do you know how many people you’ve disappointed recently?”
He was the legitimate heir of the Sinclair Family, but his recent frequent appearances in entertainnt tabloids had the family in quite a stir.
If he kept this up, it would affect him sooner or later.
Adam finally looked at her, but his attitude was still one of indifference, “It’s just a woman. I’ve been like this before, it’s no big deal.”
“That’s because you were younger back then!” Mrs. Sinclair’s face turned white with anger. She had been strong her whole life, and if it weren’t for her strength, she wouldn’t have been able to control her husband. Adam was her only son, and she naturally hoped he would be excellent and perfect. So when he recently beca the subject of many gossip news, she was furious, “When do you plan to get married?”
Adam’s deep eyes flashed, but the flash of emotion was so quick that Mrs. Sinclair didn’t notice. All she heard was the shocking statent, “I’m not planning on getting married.”
“What did you say?”
“I said, I have no plans to get married. Not now, not ever.”
Before Mrs. Sinclair could speak.
He stood up, holding his water glass, shaking it slightly. His handso face exuded noble elegance, and he said lazily, “I’ve realized now that when it cos to emotions, following the heart is not as good as following desires. I used to think about getting married, but then I realized that maintaining a marriage takes much more effort than doing business. Why waste so much ti on such aningless things? So, I’m not planning to get married.”
