Enna Clark had an uneasy sleep, her dream felt feverish, as if she had fallen into a furnace, terribly uncomfortable.
Hot...
Every cell in her body was screaming heat, she furrowed her brows tightly, her throat unbearably dry.
Even though Enna wanted to open her eyes, for so reason her eyelids felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, no matter how hard she tried, she was dragged into endless darkness.
Uncomfortable...
So uncomfortable...
"Knock knock." A knocking sound ca from the door.
Probably no answer.
The person at the doorway knocked twice more, "Knock knock!"
There was still no answer inside.
The person standing at the door hesitated, unsure whether to continue. But the thing in her hand was still steaming, she hesitated a mont, raised her hand again, knocked once more, and said quietly, "Ms. Clark, are you asleep?"
"..." Not a sound ca from inside.
The maid raised her voice a bit, calling out, "Ms. Clark, I made you so brown sugar ginger tea, it’s cooled and ready to drink anyti. Would you like to get up and have a cup before sleeping again?"
The inside was quiet as if there was no one there.
The maid felt a bit strange.
Ms. Clark hadn’t gone in long ago, even if she had fallen asleep, she wouldn’t be sleeping so deeply. She had knocked three tis, why was there no response from inside?
Ms. Clark wasn’t the type to put on airs and ignore people.
Even if she didn’t want to drink, she would say sothing.
But this ti there was no sound from inside, could it be she didn’t hear?
"Knock knock."
"Ms. Clark, are you asleep? I made you so brown sugar tea, have a little before sleeping again."
"Knock knock."
The maid knocked on the door several tis in succession, but there was no reaction from inside. She beca a bit anxious. Thinking of Enna Clark’s usual friendly and peaceful character, she gritted her teeth and decided to go in and take a look.
The maid, holding the cup of tea, turned the knob to open the bedroom door.
Enna Clark happened not to lock the room door; she twisted it, and it opened.
The spacious bedroom was extrely beautiful, but the maid had no interest in the view; she held the doorknob, hesitating at the entrance, daring not to step in. First, she quietly spoke to the person on the large bed, "Ms. Clark, are you asleep?"
The person on the bed was silent as if she could not hear.
The maid noticed sothing was wrong and went straight to the bedside. Seeing the person burning with fever, face flushed red, she was almost frightened enough to spill the water from the cup.
"Ms. Clark?"
"Ms. Clark, wake up."
The only response to her was a slight furrowing of the little woman’s brow.
Uncomfortable.
So uncomfortable.
Ear buzzing endlessly, head heavy, body also heavy. It was as if she were trapped in a furnace, the heat driving her mad.
The maid called her several tis but couldn’t wake her; not daring to delay further, she quickly put the cup on the bedside, rushed out.
Scott Harris was outside, anxiously calling Baron Lawrence, hoping Baron would pick up.
The maid had already rushed over to him, panting, "Mr. Harris, not good, Ms. Clark has a fever."
"What did you say?" Scott Harris’s phone almost dropped to the ground, his temple suddenly throbbed violently.
He made a quick decision, "Go, call the personal doctor, explain the situation, have him co over imdiately."
Then he gritted his teeth, tried calling Baron Lawrence again, still no answer. He paced back and forth anxiously, suddenly thought of an idea.
With quick fingers, he turned a call into sending a text ssage.
