Bobby’s cheeks had been pinched several tis tonight by her. Normally, he hated having his cheeks pinched, but tonight he didn’t dodge and let Enna Clark pinch them again and again. Then he looked at her with a gaze reserved for looking at a fool and said, "I haven’t seen the Dubious Man for three days. Even if he had amnesia and you two were dating, he wouldn’t disappear for three days. It must be because you two had a fight."
He paused for a mont, then continued, "And Uncle Harris, I probed him today. I tricked him into thinking I knew you guys broke up. At first, he wouldn’t admit it, but when he thought I really knew, he just went along and started comforting . So, you broke up."
Is it really okay for him to be so cunning at such a young age?
Enna Clark was speechless, wondering if Scott Harris would vomit blood upon hearing his words.
Bobby seed eager to get an answer from her and nervously asked again, "So, woman, have you really broken up with the Dubious Man?"
Enna Clark didn’t know how to talk to him about whether she had broken up or not. After a pause, she patted his head and teased in a light-hearted tone, "Weren’t you just saying I’d broken up? Are you going to take care of ? Are you planning to back out now?"
Bobby, being smart and emotionally intelligent, imdiately understood what she ant. His little brow furrowed deeply, but then, fearing his expression might make Enna Clark overthink, he tried to relax his tense face, pursed his rosy lips, and said firmly while looking at her, "Don’t worry, Enna Clark, I’ll take care of you and Gigi. I can afford to take care of you guys now! Breakups are no big deal. It’s hard to find a two-legged toad, but there are plenty of two-legged people out there. If worse cos to worst, I’ll help you find soone better than the Dubious Man..."
He originally wanted to say soone better than the Dubious Man.
But after thinking about it, he found it a bit unrealistic.
Not to ntion, just in terms of the Dubious Man’s looks and family background, it’s hard to find soone similar.
Plus, even though he thought his woman was the most beautiful and the best, he also knew that she ca with him and Gigi. Most ordinary n wouldn’t choose his woman.
Bobby turned the words that were about to escape his mouth into, "I’ll find soone who treats you better than the Dubious Man, soone with a better temper than him."
Enna Clark was amused and touched by his comfort, pinching his serious, tense cheek and saying, "Yes, yes, I know. But I’m not thinking about that right now. I’ll let you know if I am in the future, and then you can keep an eye out for , okay?"
She feared her little Bobby might be too proactive.
After all, he once tricked her into going out and tried to introduce her to a fellow kindergarten child’s dad when he was just five years old.
If he did sothing like that again, she’d really die of embarrassnt.
Bobby gave her a sideways glance, not sure what he was thinking. After contemplating for a mont, he agreed, "Okay. Just make sure you tell ."
"Got it," Enna Clark said, afraid of his continued babbling, picked up the detective storybook next to her, and said, "Alright, it’s about ti for you to sleep. I’ll read you a story, and you can slowly drift into sleep."
Her voice was calm and warm as she began reading from the book in her hand. Bobby closed his eyes and listened to her gentle voice, wondering how he could help her walk away from the shadow of heartbreak. And how he could earn more money to take care of her and Gigi.
Thinking and thinking, he accidentally drifted into dreamland...
