Enna Clark’s heart skipped a beat; she already guessed who it was.
She didn’t show it on her face, but asked, "Who is it?"
The policewoman, like a cat that slled sothing fishy, brightened her eyes again, and her tone unconsciously beca a bit more forceful, "It’s your company’s Deputy Minister of Quality Inspection. He didn’t co to work today. Ms. Clark, didn’t you know?"
"Should I have known?"
"You are the company’s representative. Shouldn’t you know about such things?" the policewoman retorted.
Enna said calmly, "You said I’m the company’s representative. The company is so large, with more than 30 employees. As a representative, do I need to know every single person, who cos to work, and who doesn’t?"
"But he’s not just an ordinary employee!" the policewoman insisted.
Enna looked at her with clear eyes and said, "Whether he’s an ordinary employee or not, he’s not that high up! Moreover, I just returned from Country W, and today was my first day at the company. Besides my secretary and my assistant, I have no ti to be concerned with who else ca to the company."
The fact that Enna had just flown into Linton City from Country W was sothing she also knew.
What Enna said made sense, leaving her speechless.
But she was not willing to let Enna wash away the suspicion so easily and continued, "But doesn’t Ms. Clark find it all too coincidental? You just returned today, and the Deputy Minister of your Quality Inspection Departnt is all set to fly out of the country. The timing is too perfect, making it hard not to think more of it."
"I also want to know why he bought a plane ticket to fly abroad," Enna said calmly. "Concerning this, I want to know more than the police do."
She had already figured out what this policewoman wanted to ask her.
Such a big accident happened in the city center, yet their Deputy Minister of Quality Inspection wanted to fly abroad. This only indicated one thing: there might be a problem with the materials they used!
If the accident resulted from problematic materials, and if she was involved, she could be held criminally responsible for such a major accident with severe consequences.
So, whether she was involved beca the most crucial point.
The policewoman hadn’t expected her to be so assertive, having asked questions for so long without getting any answers, and was instead asked many questions by her, ended up apologizing.
Her expression turned anxious, eager to pry open Enna Clark’s mouth to extract what she wanted to earn rits. Yet, facing that calm and composed face, she didn’t know where to start.
Just as the two were in a standoff.
A sudden ’bang!’ sounded as the interrogation room’s door was kicked open from the outside!
The policewoman was stunned.
A handso man, with a dark expression like a demon straight out of hell, stord to her, grabbed the small woman’s wrist sitting opposite her like an eagle catching a weak chick, and lifted her up with a low growl, "Are you stupid, woman?! They ask you to co, and you just co! With such a big issue, didn’t you think to call ?!"
Enna, who had been maintaining a calm deanor, had her composed and rational image shattered by his forceful tug. Facing the furious man, she could only bite her lower lip and said helplessly, "The situation was urgent at the ti; I didn’t think of calling you."
"You didn’t think of calling , but you thought of sending soone to the hospital to comfort the relatives of the injured?" Baron Lawrence did not accept this reasoning, tightening his grip on her wrist, his eagle-like eyes seemingly wanting to devour her!
