"I have sothing to do outside, I’ll be back later. You and Uncle Harris have dinner first, don’t wait for ."
"Liar, you promised to co back early, but ended up leaving alone at ho again!" Bobby’s voice was even more displeased, mumbling, "Is Dubious Man with you?"
The sound of water splashing ca from the bathroom, and Enna Clark worried that he would hear, she covered the phone’s receiver with her hand and walked towards the window, "...No, he’s not."
"Are you sure Dubious Man isn’t with you?" Bobby clearly didn’t believe her, "He slipped away while I was playing on my phone in the study and hasn’t returned yet. If he’s not with you, where did he go?"
Enna steadied herself and said, "Maybe he had sothing to do."
"I still think he is with you."
"He’s not... really not..." Enna had a sudden flash of inspiration, saying, "He might have gone to the hospital."
Bobby was indeed diverted by her, "You an he went to Uncle Adam’s?"
"Perhaps."
Enna didn’t even know why she lied to Bobby, saying Baron Lawrence wasn’t with her; when Bobby suddenly asked her, she got nervous and told a lie.
Then once a lie starts, countless lies must follow to cover it up.
"Why did he go to Uncle Adam’s? Why didn’t he take with him, leaving alone at ho? You’re both not ho, it’s so boring." Bobby complained discontentedly, "Neither of you care about ."
"Isn’t Mr. Harris there with you?" Enna felt guilty hearing him.
Bobby seed to pout before saying, "It’s just and Uncle Harris at ho, it’s boring too. We need three people to play Hearts, what can the two of us do at ho?"
Normally, when there’s internet, he could play online gas with Scott Harris.
The issue was, for unknown reasons, the internet was out at ho.
Two n at ho, without internet, he was about to explode from boredom.
"You can watch cartoons."
"I’m tired of them."
"Then watch your favorite TV series?" Enna suggested.
Bobby sounded annoyed, calling out to her, "Enna Clark, hurry back. If you don’t co back soon, your son will beco an idiot."
"..." The kind of person who says such things, doesn’t need to change, they already are an idiot.
"That’s settled, co back early. And bring a deck of cards when you return, there’s no internet at ho tonight, so let’s play cards."
Enna couldn’t handle him, especially since she had lied first and lacked confidence, so she agreed readily, "Okay, I understand."
Bobby got the answer he wanted, and finally, his voice didn’t have as much dissatisfaction, he quickly said, "That’s settled then. I’ll wait for you to co back. Rember to call Dubious Man, tell him to co back early too. Tonight, the three of us will play cards."
Enna listened to the sound of water splashing in the background, agreeing guiltily, "Alright."
Bobby didn’t think much of it, satisfied, he hung up the phone.
Enna heard the dial tone on the other end, put down the phone, and her shoulders relaxed. She walked back to the bed.
It scared her so much, she was afraid Bobby would find out she was lying; if Bobby noticed she lied, he’d definitely beco suspicious, and she wouldn’t be able to hide it from him.
Luckily today, Bobby didn’t notice the inconsistencies in her words, otherwise...
