Chapter 2023: Chapter 2033: I Won’t Let You Off Easy Either
Olivia Lewis and her group left the film set in high spirits, while Lisa and the Director were not feeling so great inside.
Lisa almost collapsed to the ground with her legs giving way, and the Director wasn’t in much better shape, his face pale and looking disheveled.
Lisa’s assistant reacted quickly, brought over a towel, and found a blanket to drape over her, asking worriedly, “Lisa, are you okay?”
Lisa’s mind was buzzing so loudly she couldn’t even speak.
The Director, however, seized the mont to sneer, “Ha, she’s not doing well at all. Serves her right! Weren’t you confidently claiming that soone was abandoned by their sponsor, and you could bully them at will? Well, it turns out, the one being casually humiliated is you. With your intelligence, you still dream of becoming the Queen of Acting? Even without backstage tricks, you couldn’t win it anyway. Others just rely on their sponsor for a fair chance, while you want to manipulate things with your sponsor! I’ve always wanted to say this, your skills can’t compare to Olivia Lewis. As an actor, she’s more dedicated and acts way better than you!”
Lisa, enraged, pushed her assistant aside and stood up, pointing at his nose, warning him, “Say that again!”
“I said you’re not as good as Olivia Lewis. As an actor, her skills outshine yours by miles!” The Director, full of resentnt, blad her for his inability to shoot films, speaking harshly without holding back.
Lisa didn’t expect him to actually say it, her anger causing her nose to twist, scoffing coldly, “I can’t ss with Olivia, but taking care of you is more than enough! Just wait, even if I’m dood, I’ll make sure you can’t survive in the entertainnt industry!”
The Director was stunned, wanting to retaliate with harsh words but stopped short, considering Lisa’s connections in the industry and her many sponsors. His throat felt choked, unable to speak.
Indeed, although Lisa couldn’t provoke Olivia, with her status in the entertainnt industry, she could definitely ensure his downfall.
His face shifted between blue, white, and purple, regretting his earlier outburst. He awkwardly forced a smile, “No need for that, I did help you before, without which I wouldn’t be unable to shoot films now.”
Lisa ignored him completely, wrapped herself in the blanket, and told her assistant, “Let’s go back to the hotel.”
“Okay, Lisa, I’ll call the driver to bring the van in.”
“Alright.” Lisa’s expression softened a bit, without sparing the Director a glance, she strode out.
The Director didn’t expect her to just leave like that, giving him no face, seemingly serious.
He suddenly felt embarrassed.
“Lisa!” he called out anxiously from behind.
But the disheveled person didn’t pay him any mind, acting as if she couldn’t hear his calls, leaving without a backward glance—
Everyone on the film set watched the whole scene, witnessing his lack of spine and casting scornful glances in his direction.
Despite the many crew mbers present, not one offered him a towel or anything, just watching him stand there shivering.
The Director watched as people disappeared from his sight, angrily shouting at the others, “What are you looking at? Don’t you have work to do! We’re done filming for today, pack up!”
