"Okay, okay, you’re both good-looking, my princess and young master, shall we head outside? We can’t let everyone wait forever. Enna, if you don’t go down, the ball can’t start."
Enna Clark also stopped teasing Bobby, just about to agree.
Her phone suddenly vibrated.
"Hold on a second."
She took out her phone and glanced at it.
It was a call.
After seeing the Caller ID, Enna Clark hesitated for a mont, then said to Olivia Lewis and Bobby, "I’m going to take this call over there."
As she spoke, she walked toward the floor-to-ceiling windows, answering the call, "Hello?"
On the other end, there was static for a long ti without a word. After a while, a voice as clear as spring water ca through, "Enna."
Upon hearing this voice, Enna Clark’s heart inexplicably tightened, not knowing how to respond.
The person on the other end seed to chuckle and continued, "I saw the news on TV."
"I used to imagine what you’d look like in a wedding dress, and I didn’t expect you to look even more beautiful than I imagined."
"..."
The person on the other end didn’t mind her silence, lightly saying, "Enna, it’s been a long ti since we last t, and I’m married now too."
"I know."
The person on the other end was surprised, "You know?"
Enna Clark calmly said, "I’ve t Cherysh Jordan."
Upon hearing Cherysh Jordan’s na, the person on the other end remained silent for a long ti before slowly saying, "I failed her."
Enna Clark didn’t want to judge who was right or wrong between William Sullivan and Cherysh Jordan; either way, it didn’t concern her anymore.
That’s their business.
Enna Clark didn’t respond.
William Sullivan seed a bit embarrassed and, after a bout of silence, said, "Enna, I also failed you. I’ve thought a lot during this ti... I wondered what would have happened if I hadn’t avoided it back then. But no matter how I think about it, I have to admit, I couldn’t be as good to you as Young Master Lawrence was. Enna, I didn’t call today for any other reason than to wish you a happy newlywed life."
"I hope you’re always happy."
"I’m very sorry I couldn’t be there to see you walk down the aisle, but Enna, I still hope for your happiness, more than anyone else’s."
Because he’s not happy, and no one around him is happy.
The only one left who is happy is Enna, so he wishes her happiness. Even if that happiness has nothing to do with him, just being able to see from afar that she is happy is like walking in darkness and seeing a ray of light. At least in his world, there’s sothing that remains bright as moonlight.
After Enna Clark finished listening, she said, "I will be."
Whether or not she’s happy has nothing to do with his wishes—it’s because she will cherish those around her!
Enna Clark hung up the phone, put it away, turned back, and smiled at Olivia Lewis, "Let’s go down."
Gigi had sohow ended up in Olivia Lewis’s arms. Holding Gigi, she didn’t pay much mind to the call Enna Clark had taken, affectionately pinching the little girl’s nose in her arms and saying to Enna, "Alright."
With that, she carried the little girl ahead.
Enna Clark followed a couple of steps behind them.
As she caught up, she heard a pretty little boy next to her glance at her and whisper, "Woman, rember to delete the call log, so that the Dubious Man next door doesn’t accidentally see it."
