The kiss ended.
The bloody taste between Enna Clark’s lips and teeth had faded considerably, replaced mostly by his exclusive mint scent.
Domineering, and full of possessiveness!
She wore an eye mask over her eyes, unable to see the man’s expression at that mont, but she could hear his hoarse voice beside her ear, "Don’t even think about it!"
"I won’t have anything happen to ! Neither will you! Enna Clark, rember that. Don’t be afraid! Take a deep breath, I’m right here with you!"
Crack!
The elevator’s four thick traction steel cables had snapped three, and the last one was also on the verge of breaking, almost unable to withstand the weight of the elevator and the two people.
The elevator inside swayed even more violently.
With three corners gone, the traction made the entire elevator tilt downward. Enna Clark couldn’t keep her balance and involuntarily slid toward the tilted lower side—
A muffled groan was heard.
She heard the sound of flesh hitting the steel plate.
She was safely protected in a firm embrace.
"Baron Lawrence..." She had just wanted to ask if he was alright.
Then felt the hand on her waist suddenly tighten, "Enna Clark, get ready. Close your eyes, take a deep breath. Listen to my command, I’ll count 123, you inhale, relax."

"Inhale, close your eyes!"
Enna Clark could feel her body being violently pulled upward by the rope. During the initial ascent, she could still feel Baron Lawrence holding her.
But that was only for a few short seconds before the person holding her suddenly let go—
Baron Lawrence!
Her heart suddenly accelerated, soaring to the extre in an instant.
That palpitating feeling left her mind blank, fear, terror, worry... all sorts of emotions surged up, she reached out her hand, unable to utter a word.
She only felt the nerves in her head being yanked, causing her so much pain she was about to go mad. Besides that, her stomach also started to ache sharply. Though her body was rising, her heart felt as if it had plunged into an ice cellar.

The handso man did not, as she imagined, let go and fall down.
Instead, he perilously used the strength from her safety rope to reach the broken steel cable of the elevator. When he had put on the safety rope for Enna Clark, he had removed his cut-resistant gloves, and now he was holding the cable entirely with his bare hands. The protruding wires of the steel cable pierced into his flesh, making his palms bleed profusely, as if he hadn’t noticed, his eyes were constantly focused on the small woman beside him.
Watching her as he released his grip, abruptly reaching out to try and grasp him, her face pale, waving her hands in terror as if trying to grab hold of sothing, only to have her hands drop suddenly...
"Enna Clark!"
He was internally collapsing with anxiety, but the speed of ascent was too fast, and his shouted na was completely drowned out by the sound of the wind—
