The bodyguard showed a troubled expression on his face. Looking again at Enna Clark, he gritted his teeth and said, "Ms. Clark, I’m going to tell you sothing, but don’t let Young Master Lyle find out."
"Okay."
"Due to family reasons, Young Master Lyle has been continuously targeted for assassination over the past couple of years. You rember he disappeared for a while? During that ti, he was ambushed by Young Master and trapped on a small island. Cut off from the outside world, he knew nothing about what was happening outside for half a month. It wasn’t until our people arrived that Young Master Lyle learned about your wedding, Ms. Clark, and despite the risks, led us in a daring escape..."
"But Young Master Lyle was seriously injured. Originally, we planned to take him to the hospital as soon as we got off the plane. However, worried that Young Master’s people would follow, we decided to hide here temporarily until Young Master Lyle recovered. Yet, Young Master Lyle went into a semi-coma due to excessive blood loss and refused to cooperate with us for wound treatnt. We were at a loss, so we thought of calling you, Ms. Clark."
The bodyguard briefly explained the situation and apologized to her, "Ms. Clark, we really appreciate you coming today. Fortunately, you agreed, or else we would truly not know what to do."
He paused for a mont and added, "However, I have another request, and I hope you can agree, Ms. Clark."
"What?"
"The internal struggle within the Westbrook Family has reached a fever pitch, and Young Master has completely lost his mind, not treating Young Master Lyle as a brother at all. With Young Master Lyle injured, I’m really worried. So, can I ask you not to reveal to anyone, even to Lord, about seeing Young Master Lyle here today? Is that okay?" He seed to realize that his request was a bit excessive, and his expression was quite uneasy.
Enna Clark hadn’t expected the situation to be so complicated. Understanding the concerns of Lyle Westbrook’s bodyguard, she furrowed her brow slightly and said, "I won’t ntion it."
The bodyguard breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, Ms. Clark."
After saying that, he seed to rember sothing, "Oh, Ms. Clark, I forgot to tell you that this villa has a signal jamr installed. ssages and calls don’t co through on the phone. Do you want to step outside where there’s a signal and check your phone?"
A signal jamr?
Enna Clark’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly took out her phone to check. Sure enough, it showed no service.
She looked at the ti. Nearly two hours had passed since she arrived at the villa and when Lyle Westbrook was put to sleep by the doctor with a sedative.
She imdiately stood up and said to the bodyguard, "I’ll go out and check."
"Alright."
Enna Clark hurried out with her phone.
She walked all the way outside until she finally received a signal. As the signal restored, her phone imdiately showed over a dozen missed calls.
The driver was also outside and approached her imdiately, saying, "First Young Lady, President Lawrence called the Duke earlier to ask where you were. I gave your location to Master, and Master told President Lawrence that you were with him. If you’re done here, we should go back to find Master."
He paused, "I’m worried President Lawrence might go find Master."
If President Lawrence did go to find Master and discovered that the First Young Lady wasn’t with him, it would be hard for Master to explain.
"Okay, I understand. Let’s get ready and head back."
Enna Clark knew the man’s personality and realized that what the driver worried about was very likely to happen. She quickly inford Lyle Westbrook’s bodyguard before getting into the car in haste...
