A deep voice, intermittent and low, gave no hint of his displeasure.
Instinctively, Enna Clark remained silent throughout, quietly engrossed in her food. She would only occasionally sneak a glance up, observing the changes in the man’s expression across from her.
No matter how she looked, Baron Lawrence seed too normal!
As if nothing had happened, there wasn’t the slightest hint of anger from him.
But she hadn’t answered his calls and her phone was unreachable, given this man’s character, how could he not be angry?
If he weren’t angry, he wouldn’t have appeared here!
Since Baron Lawrence had tracked down to Little Uncle’s villa, what does this indicate? It indicates he was already very angry! A man who’s extrely angry and usually acts with abandon in front of her, suddenly seeming like a different person, appearing calm and not at all angry—this issue is bigger than his anger itself.
Enna Clark couldn’t guess what he was thinking.
She had lost her appetite while eating.
She rely poked at her steak with her knife and fork, slowly waiting for their dinner conversation to end.
Finally, once dinner was over.
Edward Jackson escorted the two of them to the door.
Before they got into the car, Edward Jackson’s mature and steady face adopted a hint of seriousness, and he suddenly spoke a seemingly nonsensical remark to the proud man, "Rember what you promised before."
"I rember."
The trace of seriousness on Edward Jackson’s face vanished in an instant, returning to his usual expression. He patted Enna Clark’s shoulder gently and said, "Enna, let know when you get there. I’ll be staying in Country W for a while, if you have ti, bring Bobby to visit and have so fun."
Enna Clark didn’t notice when Edward Jackson spoke, Baron’s steely gaze suddenly narrowed, his fists clenched, forcibly suppressing the turmoil in his eyes.
"Alright." Enna Clark answered quickly, unaware of what had just transpired.
Edward Jackson, upon hearing her response, smiled, released his hold, "Alright, it’s really late, you both should head back. Drive safely and let know when you get ho."
"Okay, Little Uncle, don’t worry."
"I have a eting waiting for at the company, so I won’t see you off."
"Go ahead, we’ll be fine."
Edward Jackson went back inside.
In the blink of an eye, outside the villa, only the driver, herself, and Baron Lawrence remained.
The feeling of a weight on her chest resurfaced for Enna Clark, she opened her mouth but before she could suggest getting in the car, her wrist was suddenly gripped fiercely!
He held it tightly!
With such force that Enna Clark suspected he intended to crush her wrist!
Even though it hurt a bit, she tolerated it, pursed her lips, and looked at him, waiting for him to speak.
Unexpectedly, though.
Baron Lawrence tightened his grip on her wrist, but only for a few seconds. After those few seconds, as if everything were fine, he released her hand, brushing past her, and opened the car door, "Get in."
Enna Clark was bewildered by his actions, discreetly turning her sore wrist, and followed him into the car.
Throughout the drive, the man sitting beside her kept his jaw tight without uttering a word.
Though clearly upset, he insisted on maintaining composure. Yet it wasn’t in his nature, the suppression only making the atmosphere more tense, causing her heart to race.
