"I understand." Baron Lawrence hung up the phone and put it back.
The temperature in the examination room suddenly dropped. The doctor, although bewildered, vaguely sensed that sothing extraordinary had been overheard. While nervously trying to lower his presence, the man who had just finished the call was already walking toward him, sitting back in his original position with indifference, "Do you know the consequences of speaking words you shouldn’t say?"
This was a blatant warning!
The doctor grew increasingly tense, nodding repeatedly, "Y-yes, I understand. President Lawrence, I actually didn’t hear anything you said, and I won’t tell anyone."
"It doesn’t matter if you do." The cold man leaned back against the chair, his sharp gaze sweeping over him, extrely bloodthirsty, "Unless you don’t want your job and your tongue!"

He spoke casually, but the doctor in the examination room felt his legs go weak, firmly stating, "President Lawrence, rest assured, I know nothing, and I heard nothing just now. I won’t reveal a single word to anyone!"
"Hmm." Baron Lawrence slightly closed his dark eyes, his thin lips parting to command, "Continue."
"O-okay."
Because of that phone call, the temperature in the examination room dropped significantly.
The doctor dared not ntion anything about wound infection again, obediently lowering his presence while busy cleaning the bloodstains near the wound.
In just half an hour, a layer of fine cold sweat appeared on his forehead...
Whether from nervousness or fear was unknown.
Since the call ended, the man with eyes closed had been ditating, not paying any attention to him, resting with eyes shut, his emotions unreadable.
The doctor also dared not speculate on what he was thinking, burying his head down, quickening his hands’ pace.
Soon, a new bandage was applied, and the wound dicated again. After tying a knot on the bandage, the doctor packed up his things, stepping aside, softly reminding, "President Lawrence, it’s done. During the wound healing period, please be careful not to get it wet. Also, be mindful of your diet, try to avoid spicy foods. Other than that, if you have the ti, you should rest more."
As he spoke, he sneaked glances at the man’s handso face, guessing in his heart...
Could President Lawrence have fallen asleep?
