Or perhaps, what the previous female reporter asked her was true, that Baron Lawrence hadn’t just gone to a hotel with Miranda Lewis, but had actually reserved a suite for her in the hotel!
She didn’t appear particularly angry, but Scott Harris felt she was, and opened his mouth, unsure of how to defend him.
Enna Clark glanced up at the quartz clock on the wall, "It’s seven o’clock now. They’ve been in the hotel for at least an hour, and Baron Lawrence still hasn’t co back."

Enna Clark flipped through the photos on her phone, which included shots of Miranda Lewis running out to greet them from the hotel and her smiling radiantly at the visitor...
That face, no matter how she looked at it, made her feel uncomfortable.
At the sa ti, a surge of indescribable anger rose within her.
She believed that Baron Lawrence and Miranda Lewis hadn’t done anything inappropriate, but shouldn’t she still be angry that he went to a hotel with another woman without telling her?
Even if she believed him, it still wasn’t an excuse for him to go to a hotel with Miranda Lewis, nor to lie about it!
