"Ugh—" Enna Clark retched violently, but apart from feeling nauseous, she couldn’t actually vomit anything, just a stomach upset.
She was holding back so hard, tears welled up as she coughed, but she still didn’t forget to retort to soone, "You call that not fast?"
"You can ask Scott Harris, I usually drive at 120 miles per hour."
Today he drove at 90 miles per hour, just to accommodate her.
Who knew she would still get car sick.
Enna Clark was at a loss for words, feeling too uncomfortable in her stomach to bother with him. She simply closed her eyes and tried to adjust herself.
Baron Lawrence glanced at her pale side face, already regretting. He pursed his thin lips and reached out with his hand, casually patting her back twice clumsily.
He wasn’t good at taking care of people. He ant to help Enna Clark ease her discomfort, but his hand was too heavy, making Enna suspect he was taking the opportunity to tornt her.
Fortunately, Baron himself realized his hand was too heavy, and he softened his touch.
He silently helped Enna ease her discomfort until she felt embarrassed and spoke up, "Alright, Baron, I’m okay now."
"Really okay?" He frowned, still not quite believing it.
Enna Clark raised both hands, "Really, I swear."
Only then did he put his hand away, showing a slightly displeased mumble on his handso face, "I’ve always told you to eat more, but you never listen, always eating just a little. How can your health be okay?"
His voice wasn’t too loud, but not too soft either; they were standing so close, Enna could hear him clearly.
Enna Clark twitched her mouth slightly and said, "I’ve already eaten quite a lot, it’s just that my stomach can only hold so much. What can I do?"
"The stomach expands, you eat more, and it will grow bigger."
What kind of nonsense is that? Did he think the stomach was a balloon, the bigger the better? Even if the stomach were a balloon, blowing too much air into it could cause it to explode.
Enna Clark found it pointless to argue with him and decided not to continue the conversation, "By the way, Baron, why did you bring here?"
"This place is..."
"The detention center." The man, still displeased with her poor health, said gruffly, raising his arm to check his wristwatch, "It’s about ti."
"Let’s go."
"What ti?"
Enna Clark’s left hand was already held by him, their fingers interlocked.
She had no choice but to match his pace.
He was tall and his legs were long, walking with a natural breeze. Normally Enna would have to jog to keep up with his stride. But surprisingly, this ti he seed to intentionally slow down his pace to match hers, allowing Enna to keep up effortlessly.
He must have made arrangents with the people here in advance, as they led him inside right after checking his credentials.
"This way, President Lawrence."
They walked through the corridor and finally stopped in front of a room.
The person who led them over whispered sothing to the guard, who then opened the door for them, "Please, the two of you can sit inside. I will make arrangents shortly."
"Okay."
Baron Lawrence tightened his grip on Enna Clark’s hand a little, pulling her inside, "Let’s go, we’re going in."
"Oh."
Enna Clark followed him inside, only to realize it was a visiting room. Surveillance caras were set up all around, and from the mont they entered, they were within the monitoring range.
