The night gradually descended, and the bright moon shyly erged from the clouds, its soft glow illuminating the entire room.
Scott Harris ca in a few tis to help her replace the coffee.
Enna Clark held etings for two hours straight before finally finishing.
Exhausted, she leaned back in her swivel chair, took off her headset, picked up the coffee Scott had brought in, and took a sip.
The coffee was still warm, just right for drinking.
The warm coffee comforted her stomach, and Enna finally felt a bit better. She estimated the ti abroad and sent Baron Lawrence a text ssage.
[Are you still busy?]
Three minutes passed, and there was no response from the other side.
Impatient to take a shower, Enna sent another ssage over.
[Baron Lawrence, are you very busy? How about I don’t call you tonight, and wait until you finish? I’ll call you tomorrow morning?]
After she sent the ssage, there was no reply from the other side for quite a while.
It seed like Baron Lawrence was really busy.
Enna put her phone aside and first organized her laptop’s files, which were used in the eting earlier. Although she had already organized them before, redoing it took her another half hour. When she was done, it was already eleven at night.
Enna stretched her stiff neck from sitting, stood up, closed the laptop, and prepared to return to her room to rest.
Before that, she picked up her phone to check again, ensuring Baron Lawrence hadn’t replied to her ssages. She rubbed her temples and returned to the bedroom.
The sound of water splashing in the bathroom.
Enna showered, applied a face mask, and felt much more refreshed when she ca out. As she dried the water from her hair tips, she walked toward the bed.
"Actually, this doesn’t quite resemble , especially when I’m with friends, the quietest in the noise easily ignites this slow-to-warm heart, one mont it’s pouring rain, the next my heart is clear skies because of you..." Her phone on the bed started ringing non-stop.
This ringtone was forced on her by soone before, claid to be of great commorative value.
Hearing the exclusive ringtone, Enna hurriedly put down the towel and bent over to pick up the phone.
As she opened it, she imdiately felt a headache.
Seven missed calls on her phone, there was no need to guess who made them.
Damn, bla the good soundproofing of the bathroom, she completely didn’t hear her phone ringing outside.
"Too many scenes flash in my mind. All the crazy thoughts are about you. It’s you. But I’m really tryna keep it cool..." The persistent song was already at its last verse; if she didn’t answer, it would automatically hang up.
Enna didn’t have ti to think too much and answered the call, "Hello."
"Why did it take so long to answer? What were you doing?"
She had just said hello when the person on the other end arrogantly shot out a series of questions.
Enna turned and picked up the towel, walking back to the bathroom while explaining, "I sent you a ssage and went to shower. The water was too loud, I didn’t hear your call. Baron Lawrence, you didn’t see the text I sent you?"
The last sentence was a question.
The question seed unpleasant to soone’s ears, "I saw it, so what."
Enna put the damp towel back in its original place, washed her hands, and clamped the phone between her ear and shoulder, "Not much. You’re finished?"
