His explanation made perfect sense; Enna Clark’s initial doubts were dispelled by his reasonable explanation, "Oh, I’m free anyti tomorrow. No need for Grandpa to coordinate my schedule. Just have Grandpa call when he’s available."
"In that case, how about joining the Old Lord for a round of golf in the morning, Young Madam?" The Housekeeper suggested unexpectedly.
Golf?
Enna Clark was montarily stunned.
Before she could answer, the elderly man on the other end elaborated calmly, "In the past, Ms. Skye would accompany the Old Lord to such engagents, but now Ms. Skye..."
He paused before continuing, "The Old Lord’s health hasn’t recovered well, I’m worried about his endurance. However, the Old Lord has a stubborn disposition and dislikes having the company’s public relations staff accompany him, so if Young Madam is available, I think it would be nice for you to keep him company. Look after the Old Lord, so he doesn’t push himself too hard."
Enna Clark pictured the robust elderly man’s strong-willed nature, contemplated for a few seconds, and then said, "Sure, I’m just concerned that Grandpa might find it uncomfortable."
The Old Master dislikes having company from the public relations departnt; would he dislike her presence too?
The Housekeeper had anticipated her acceptance and smiled slightly, "He won’t mind. The Old Lord actually likes Young Madam very much, if it’s Young Madam, the Old Lord will certainly not say anything."
He had said so much, so Enna Clark couldn’t refuse any longer, "What ti tomorrow morning?"
"Nine-thirty in the morning; I’ll send Young Madam the specific address. You can also co to the old house first and go with the Old Lord."
"Alright."
Having finished everything he needed to say, the Housekeeper courteously said, "Sorry to disturb Young Madam. Please rest early."
"You too, Housekeeper. Good night."
"Good night."
Enna Clark hung up the phone, furrowing her brow in contemplation about whether to wake up early tomorrow to find a nearby golf practice range for so practice. A video call request from soone had already appeared—
Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted; she propped herself up on a pillow, leaned against it, and answered the video call.
The phone screen went black for a second before automatically connecting.
Compared to the twilight on her side, it seed to be broad daylight on the other end with perfect sunlight.
The man on the video call was sitting on a couch, long legs crossed, unusually charismatic. He was wearing that black thin sweater she had bought him earlier, which complented his fair skin, handso and elegant.
Indeed, so people bring light wherever they are. Naturally dazzling, like God’s perfect creation!
The only pity was the man, though exceptionally handso, currently had his sharp brows furrowed fiercely, face tense and ashen, clearly in a foul mood, "Enna Clark, how long does it take you to answer a call? Five minutes aren’t enough? Who was calling? Male or female? What did you have to discuss for so long?"
Damn it, every second of those five minutes felt like torture to him, wishing he could burst through the video and see who dared call her in the middle of the night!
He asked a barrage of questions through gritted teeth, leaving Enna Clark bewildered, forcing her to massage her temples helplessly and she retorted, "Baron Lawrence, are you jealous?"
Her words had just fallen when she heard a deep, cold laugh from the other side, like the strings of a cello, deep and domineering, "Heh, can’t you tell I’m about to devour soone?"
Jealous?
Heh, if the caller were a man, he’d ruin him!
