"I’ll finish things up here as soon as possible and be back by the day after tomorrow at the latest."
Enna Clark heard him say that and quickly tried to stop him, "You don’t have to rush so much, make sure you rest. It’s not like anything’s urgent on my end, no need to hurry."
"I am in a hurry! In a hurry to see you! In a hurry to kiss you!"
I’m in a hurry, in a hurry to see you.
His words were so blunt, with a third person present on the screen. Even though that person seed oblivious to Baron Lawrence’s words from start to finish, Enna felt a wave of embarrassnt, her cheeks burning. She reached up to touch her flaming cheeks, using her palm to cool her face, and stamred, urging him, "Alright, aren’t you supposed to have a eting? Go attend your eting. I’m about to sleep too, have to get up early in the morning."
"Okay."
Baron’s voice was deep and enticing, "Goodnight. You must dream of ."
Enna Clark, "..." How could anyone guarantee dreams? How was she supposed to know what she’d dream about?
On the other end of the phone, the screen flickered, then went dark.
The man in the video disappeared instantly, and as Enna let out a sigh of relief, the heat in her cheeks finally subsided a bit. Though they were still quite warm, she felt a little empty inside.
She actually also wanted to chat with him a little longer, but Baron Lawrence was too busy, and she didn’t want to disrupt his work.
She understood this man well, very principled, especially when it ca to work, never procrastinates. Today’s tasks must be completed today, even if it ans pulling an all-nighter to finish! So, she didn’t want to take up his work ti, afraid that he wouldn’t rest at night and would have to stay up late to catch up.
In reality, she didn’t know that the three-day, two-night business trip arranged by Baron Lawrence included his nightti hours as well.
During the day, he attended the Military District eting as he told Enna, but during the nights, he had other things planned.
"Lord, I’ve taken care of what you arranged; the other party has taken the bait, as you can see..." The man who had urged Baron Lawrence to attend the eting in Enna’s presence imdiately and dutifully reported once the video was turned off.
Once the video was off, the man’s tenderness disappeared, leaving only a sense of nobility and coldness. His eyes didn’t even blink as he coldly commanded, "Proceed as originally planned!"
"Yes."
"Tell those people that this ti, I will not tolerate any mistakes! If they disappoint again, they will face the consequences!"
The man in the black suit shivered, lowered his head, and spoke softly without even looking at him, "Yes, Lord!"
Enna slept soundly that night.
The next morning, she woke up, took Bobby to school first, then returned ho to change clothes, put on a light makeup, and drove to the address sent by the Housekeeper.
Her phone rang just as her car entered the parking lot.
Enna glanced at the caller ID, didn’t turn off the engine, and answered the call, "Hello, Housekeeper."
"Young Madam, have you arrived?"
Enna looked at the glass building outside and smiled, "I’m here, please ask Grandpa to wait a mont, I’ll be right over."
"No need to rush, Young Madam, the Old Lord has just arrived and is chatting with the counterpart. So of the other party’s people haven’t arrived yet, so you can take your ti getting here. I just called to confirm your location." The Housekeeper’s voice was gentle.
"Got it." Enna replied while unfastening her seatbelt, "I’ll park first and co over once I’m done, hanging up now."
"Alright, Young Madam."
