Jacob Clark avoided his gaze, stiffened his neck, wanting to refute but was powerless to do so.
He knew well how he treated Enna Clark back then.
In the Clark Family, Jasmine Clark was the spoiled daughter, while Enna was just a shadow in the house, with even less presence than the servants.

The phrase ’Why should she?’ pierced Jacob Clark so deeply that even his spine hunched a bit.
It wasn’t because of the security personnel holding him down, it was his own guilt, unable to answer this man’s sharp questions.

Juliet Jordan couldn’t lift her head at all, shrinking and clutching her head to block her ears.
She no longer resembled even a trace of Linton City’s noble madam but looked more like a fallen peasant woman, disheveled.
The disdainful gazes from all directions almost undressed her; she could hear those whispering voices continuously reaching her ears.
