She never intended for Bobby to go down the path of an arranged marriage, especially since Bobby has a childhood sweetheart, Quinn. She was about to refuse Old Master Lawrence.
Then she heard the firm voice of the man behind her, "I have no interest in social status matches, and there’s no need for him to have an arranged marriage. Marriage can be discussed when he grows up!"
It was Baron Lawrence.
Enna Clark gave him a frustrated look, then used a gentler approach as she spoke to the ailing Old Master Lawrence, "Grandpa, Bobby is still young, he doesn’t understand the concept of engagent at all right now. I still hope that when he grows up a bit, he understands the responsibilities of being a man, and hopefully will et a girl he loves and be with the one he likes. I hope he can live happily."
Old Master Lawrence looked at her deeply, and surprisingly, didn’t insist as strongly on his own opinion as before, but rather touched his lips, "I understand."
"I’ve seen a photo of that girl; she looks fine. No need to worry about her upbringing, and in other aspects, she’s quite suitable for Tobias. Personally, I still hope they can end up together in the end. Of course, these matters can be discussed later."
Baron Lawrence furrowed his brows, as if he had sothing to say.
Enna Clark tugged at his sleeve, shook her head at him, signaling not to anger the old master at this mont.
Grandpa said they can discuss it later, which shows he’s not insisting on setting up a childhood marriage for Bobby. Who can say what the future holds; perhaps Bobby might find that the girl is actually nice, or, after eting a girl he likes, the old master might just approve of that girl... There are too many possibilities in the future, so there’s no need to argue over uncertain matters now, which could affect their relationship.
Baron Lawrence, held by her, relaxed his knitted brow, pressed his thin lips tightly, and said nothing more.
Old Master Lawrence saw Enna Clark’s small gesture, glanced at Baron Lawrence, and then focused his gaze on her, eyes becoming profound as if seeing soone else through Enna Clark.
Enna Clark didn’t notice his distinct gaze, nimbly peeled the apple in her hand, cut it into small pieces suitable for the elderly to eat, arranged them nicely on a plate, and with a smile handed it to Old Master Lawrence, "Grandpa, have a piece. See if it’s sweet, and if not, I’ll go to the nearby supermarket later to buy so more apples."
Old Master Lawrence, called by her, concealed the nostalgic look in his eyes, took a piece of apple out of courtesy, and tried it.
"How is it, sweet?" Enna Clark asked nervously.
Old Master Lawrence glanced at her. Initially, he didn’t think it was very sweet, but under her concerned gaze, for so reason, the apple seed a bit different from when he ate alone in the past. He couldn’t quite articulate the difference, but he didn’t mind this subtle change, "Barely."
When he says barely, Enna Clark knows he actually quite likes the apple. After all, Old Master Lawrence shares traits with a certain soone and Bobby, who all like to say one thing but an another.
When they say it’s average, it ans they like it, and when they say they like it, it’s from the heart!
She smiled and handed Old Master Lawrence another piece, then pushed the remaining ones towards Baron Lawrence, her smile blossod like a flower, "Baron Lawrence, do you want to try it?"
SHI-T! Only letting him eat what the old man had left!
The handso man’s eyes narrowed like an eagle, coldly refusing, "No!"
Then he said, "Stay here and keep the old man company, I’ll go and find the doctor."
