Adam Sinclair watched him leave with dark eyes, then opened his phone’s browser to glance at the gossip.
Each piece felt like a thorn in his chest.
With a frosty expression, he called his secretary. As soon as the call connected, he commanded in a low voice, "Have the public relations departnt clean up the news online. I want results by tomorrow morning!"
"Uh, President Sinclair, what news are you talking about?" The secretary, who was preparing to sleep, was suddenly awakened by the phone and was completely dumbfounded by the vague order.
"Check online yourself!" Adam had no mood to explain to him, he hung up imdiately, regardless of how busy the secretary and the public relations departnt would be today.
As soon as he hung up, his phone rang again.
Before entering the elevator, he glanced at the caller ID. His handso face turned colder. After pausing for a mont, he swiped to reject the call.
The caller was exceptionally persistent, calling twice more after the rejection. Adam refused them all without exception.
The caller perhaps sensed that Adam wouldn’t answer today, ceased calling after being rejected three tis.
"Ding——" The elevator arrived at Olivia Lewis’s floor.
Adam tucked the now silent phone into his pocket, stepped out of the elevator, and walked to the apartnt door.
He didn’t rush inside.
For so reason, he stood at the door for a full ten minutes, as if gathering the courage, before taking out the key to unlock the door...
In the cozy little apartnt, it was very quiet, as if no one was there.
He changed his shoes and walked from the entrance hall to the living room, but didn’t see the person he wanted to et. He kept walking to the kitchen, and only when he slled the aroma of noodles did he see the petite woman in her ho pajamas casually tying up her hair, carrying a steaming bowl of freshly made noodles from the kitchen.
For so reason, Adam suddenly hesitated, pursing his thin lips, not knowing why he felt a reluctance to approach.
Olivia showed no special reaction, carried the hot noodles and walked straight to the small dining table as if she hadn’t seen him, started eating heartily.
She wasn’t at all like a star on TV, eating noodles naturally and at ease, occasionally smacking her lips noisily, almost making clicking sounds.

As the phone continued ringing, Adam felt his temples tighten, pulled out his phone, and glanced down. It was still the caller ID he had ignored earlier—Renee Anderson!
