"Sending soone to Country T to dig coal?" Enna Clark understood that person’s personality just like him, and she said what he dared not to say first.
Scott Harris dared not speak ill of Baron Lawrence behind his back. His principles wouldn’t allow it, so he only gave Enna Clark a ’Young Madam, you know’ look.
Enna Clark was amused by his hesitant expression and let out a chuckle, then quickly held back, fearing that Scott Harris might be too flustered to go after Joanne Harrison, she quickly said seriously, "Don’t worry, I won’t say it in front of him, I get it."
How could she not understand how strong that man’s possessiveness was; he had done domineering things before.
Scott Harris was too embarrassed to continue the topic. If he continued, he felt like he’d have so ambiguous relationship with Ms. Harrison. Taking advantage of Enna Clark starting to eat, he quietly reported beside her, "By the way, Young Madam, I forgot to report to you. Lord went on a business trip this morning and won’t be back until the day after tomorrow. It was a last-minute thing, and Lord left in quite a hurry this morning. You were still asleep, and Lord couldn’t bear to wake you up. So, he couldn’t tell you in advance and asked to inform you that he wants you to wait for his return."
Enna Clark was in the middle of enjoying her flavorful fish congee when she couldn’t help but stop upon hearing this, and looked at him in shock, "Baron Lawrence went on a business trip? Where to?"
"To Country T." Scott Harris lied with his eyes wide open. He didn’t want to lie to Enna Clark, but Baron Lawrence instructed him not to say anything, so he could only lie.
"Why did he suddenly go to Country T? Did sothing happen?" Enna Clark looked at him without understanding, her bright eyes visibly filled with confusion.
Scott Harris rarely lied to anyone and was so guilty that he almost didn’t dare to et her eyes. With a stiff upper lip, he took out the prepared excuse, "Uh, there’s a situation with a branch of the Lawrence Family in Country T. Lord needs to go there and take charge. Once things are sorted out, he will be back."
"Oh."
There was still doubt in Enna Clark’s eyes. A woman’s sixth sense told her that Scott Harris was hiding sothing from her, but she couldn’t figure out what for the ti being.
Absentmindedly, she picked up her spoon and resud eating.
Scott Harris also noticed her worry and hesitated before comforting, "Young Madam, Lord will be back soon. You don’t need to worry too much."
"Hmm, I got it."
After all, Scott Harris had lied, and seeing that she didn’t want to talk, he couldn’t continue either, so he quietly stepped aside and kept watching over her.
After Enna Clark finished breakfast, she received a call from Emily Goldsmith, whom she hadn’t seen in a while, inviting her to go shopping together.
She had nothing to do before Rhine moved to Country W, so she went to the appointnt. As soon as she arrived at the place Emily Goldsmith ntioned, she saw who was beside Emily and suddenly had a headache.
"Enna, long ti no see, I’ve missed you," Emily Goldsmith was delighted to see her and grabbed her arm, smiling brightly.
Wendy Hanson looked more haggard than last ti, even makeup couldn’t conceal the dark circles under her eyes. Seeing Enna Clark looking at her, she generously greeted, "Hello, Ms. Clark."
Only then did Emily Goldsmith seem to realize her presence, and sowhat apologetically explained to Enna Clark, "I ran into Sister Wendy on my way out today. She also wanted to shop, Enna, you don’t mind an extra person, do you?"
Enna Clark pursed her lips and shook her head, "I don’t mind."
Whether Wendy Hanson was there or not didn’t matter to her, after all, she wasn’t the one coveting soone else’s husband.
