Nicole Oliver was overjoyed when she heard he agreed to help, but before her joy pletely took over, she noticed August Oliver’s cold expression. As she pondered over August’s words, her heart tightened abruptly.

Nicole cautiously forced a smile and tentatively asked, "August, wouldn’t this be too difficult for you? Actually, this whole thing is a misunderstanding. August listened quietly until she was finished. The waiter brought the steak they ordered. August lifted the glass of lemon water in his hand, shook it slightly, then set it down, looking up at her face. His dark eyes were like a deep well, reflecting her image, "So, was the journalist following Lena your person?"
Nicole felt as if her throat was being choked, and she was unable to deny it immediately, "I..."

"Oh?" August remained highly indifferent, seemingly unmoved by her flawless explanation. He turned his gaze away, picked up the knife and fork to cut the steak on his plate. The leather wristband on his wrist stood out distinctly, contrasting sharply with his fair skin and forming a striking contrast with the sleeve of his suit, "Regardless, Lena is an artist under the pany. "August, I’m sorry. If I had known earlier that my manager was secretly hiring journalists to follow her, I would have stopped it. Nicole had already decided to confess that she had framed Lena when he questioned her, hoping to leverage her personal connection with August to trivialize the matter.
She lowered her head, carrying an extra charm of delicate sadness.
