"What Destroyer?"
Goku asked curiously.
Thor quickly explained:
"That's Father God's strongest armor, and also an extrely terrifying weapon. It's usually kept in Odin's Vault, guarded within.
Loki must have activated it with Father God's Spear of Eternity."
"So it's very powerful?"
Goku suddenly beca interested.
"Not just powerful, it's terrifying!"
Thor replied through gritted teeth.
If his divine power hadn't been sealed, he wouldn't be afraid of the Destroyer.
After all, it's just armor; without Father God's divine power, he could destroy it with Mjolnir.
But now, he couldn't even lift Mjolnir, which was very troubleso.
"Then I'll go and see it!"
Goku summoned his Flying Nimbus, leaped onto it, and was about to go see just how powerful the Destroyer really was.
But Thor grabbed his armband:
"No, your magic won't work on the Destroyer. Grab my Mjolnir, let's go together!"
In his mind, Goku was just a Midgardian wizard who knew all sorts of magical arts.
But wizards weren't good at head-on combat, especially against a wizard's nesis like the Destroyer.
The Destroyer's armor had extrely strong resistance to energy attacks. Let alone Goku, a Midgardian wizard.
Even the Asgardian wizards, the Frost Giants' freezing magic, couldn't inflict any damage on the Destroyer's armor.
To defeat the Destroyer's armor, he needed an artifact of equal caliber.
His Mjolnir was forged from Uru tal and branches from the World Tree within a dying star.
It was one of Asgard's most powerful artifacts.
If Goku could lift Mjolnir, he would gain the power of Thor. While he might not wield it as skillfully or powerfully as he could on his own, with Sif and the Warriors Three assisting him, he should still have a chance of winning.
"Alright, but I want to fight him first. If I lose, then I'll use your hamr to smash it."
Goku thought for a mont and replied.
He enjoyed fighting skilled opponents, but he wasn't truly heartless.
If he couldn't win, he would use Mjolnir to protect Thor and the town.
He was even willing to gang up on them in a crucial mont.
A fair one-on-one fight was based on the premise that both sides were engaging in martial arts sparring.
Like the World Martial Arts Tournant.
Saving people was a different matter.
"Sif and the Warriors Three will go first; you can observe them."
Thor didn't scold Goku for being so presumptuous as to want to fight the Destroyer at this mont.
Because even he himself wouldn't like others interfering in his battles.
Besides, Goku didn't owe him anything, and had been helping him all along.
His life in Midgard these past few days had brought about many changes in him, and the book he read yesterday had had a certain influence.
Therefore, he was willing to consider things from Goku's perspective.
But he also believed that when Goku saw the Destroyer's power, he would abandon his unrealistic fantasies and take up his Mjolnir to fight.
"Then let's go!"
With a wave of his hand, a huge magic circle appeared on the ground.
The magic circle lifted Thor and the others, and with Goku's Flying Nimbus, they flew towards the direction from which the Destroyer was attacking.
"Go!"
"Oh, this is amazing! I'm actually flying in the sky!" University student Darcy stood on the magic circle, looking at the rapidly receding scenery below, showing no fear whatsoever, but rather excitent.
Then she pulled out her phone again; how could she not share this on Facebook?
Dr. Selvig and Jane, after their initial surprise, imdiately lowered their heads to study the magic circle beneath their feet.
They only regretted not having the necessary equipnt to detect this anti-gravity phenonon.
As for Sif and the Warriors Three, although sowhat surprised, they quickly adapted.
Instead, their expressions turned grave as they looked at the approaching Destroyer.
The Destroyer was nearly five ters tall, its body composed of strange tallic scales, and it seed to possess terrifying, world-destroying energy within it.
When it saw Goku and the others, it imdiately stopped in its tracks.
"Loki, I know it's you. No matter what happened before, as long as you're willing to stop now, it's not too late. If you truly want to be the King of Asgard, I can give it to you. Don't make any more mistakes!"
Thor stood on the anti-gravity magic circle, looking at the Destroyer before him and shouting.
He had indeed cared deeply about the throne before; he hoped to lead Asgard to continued glory, like his father, and inherit his father's honor.
However, after these past few days, he suddenly realized that if things had to co to this point with Loki, the throne didn't seem so important anymore.
Hearing Thor's words, the Destroyer was visibly stunned for a mont, but finally, he slowly opened his mouth and unleashed a terrifying energy shockwave at Thor.
Clearly, Loki, the one controlling the Destroyer, didn't believe Thor's words.
Or rather, he believed his foolish older brother wouldn't lie, but he knew that if he didn't stop Thor from returning to Asgard, even if Thor were willing to relinquish the throne, he wouldn't be able to hold onto it.
In the hearts of most Asgardians, Thor, this war-like prince, was their ideal heir to the throne.
Or perhaps, deep down, he didn't really care about the throne, but simply wanted to prove himself through it.
To let the Father and all Asgardians know that he, Loki, was no less capable than Thor.
Seeing the Destroyer attack Thor, Goku imdiately deactivated the anti-gravity magic circle, and everyone landed instantly, narrowly avoiding the attack.
After landing, Thor quickly retreated with Jane and the others, creating distance to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
anwhile, Sif and the Warriors Three quickly devised a battle plan.
"Draw its attention!"
Sif hid behind the Warriors Three, who roared and charged at the Destroyer.
"For the glory of Asgard!"
The Warriors Three, clad in Asgardian golden armor, leaped like cannonballs, attacking the Destroyer's neck and arms respectively.
They wanted to decapitate the Destroyer and sever its arms.
However, facing the three's fierce attacks, the Destroyer simultaneously raised both hands, striking Hogan and Fandral, who were attacking its arms, directly.
The speed was so fast that the two had no ti to react and were sent flying backward at an even greater speed, crashing heavily to the ground, creating two large craters.
Volstagg, who wanted to decapitate it, fared even worse, his body being directly hit by the Destroyer's head-on shockwave.
In just one round, three powerful warriors renowned throughout Asgard were seriously injured.
Fortunately, their objective wasn't to defeat the Destroyer, but to draw attention.
Because in that short ti, Sif had already reached the Destroyer's back and, with all her might, pierced its heart.
