A thousand years ago, Kibutsuji Muzan, a disgrace who beca a demon, appeared in their family, and the n in the family suffered a terrible curse.
All male infants born were weak and sickly, and would soon die prematurely.
Later, their clan followed the advice of the shrine priest and began marrying girls from the priestess clan as wives, which prevented the clan from being wiped out by the curse.
