The Hunter's footsteps were already approaching from the distance.

A gurgling sound, like that of a strange steam engine, ca from his throat again.

The sound of a bullet being chambered ca again.
Mono looked back and saw the Hunter already raising his gun, scaring the wits out of him.
Turning around and seeing Little Six had reached the edge of the window, he hurriedly pushed her butt with force to shove her up.
Little Six fell onto the platform.
"Quick, pull up!"
Mono's voice ca through.
Little Six wasn't slow either. The mont she was pushed up, she stood up and leaned down, stretching her body out of the window.
Her slender little hand gripped tightly, and at the limit of her reach, she directly grabbed Mono.
"Bang!"
The gunshot finally rang out.
Little Six gave a sudden, powerful pull.
"Bang!"
A large hole was blasted right where Mono had just been.
Mono once again fell into Little Six's embrace.
"Run!"
Without ti to celebrate their luck, Mono hurriedly scrambled up and ran forward.
Little Six also stood up and, with a sprint, directly bypassed Mono and ran to the front.
Mono's mouth twitched.

The terrain of the Attic wasn't good either.
The floorboards had mostly rotted and fallen apart due to years of neglect.

Mono also stepped onto the plank.

Two heads erged from the water.
Mono quickly scanned the surroundings and imdiately recognized that this was indeed that Stinking Gutter.
They had fallen into the Stinking Gutter.
"Thump, thump, thump~"
The Hunter's footsteps ca again from the back door of the wooden house.
Mono was startled.
"Quick, hide in the corner."
He hurriedly directed Little Six.
Little Six followed him and swam forward.
*Click~*
The gate was opened once again.
The powerful beam of a searchlight projected directly outward.
Mono and Little Six floated quietly in a dark corner of the gutter, making no sound.

The Hunter stepped along, walking forward on the wooden path built over the gutter.
Mono watched helplessly as he stopped nearby once more to patrol.
He couldn't even be bothered to curse anymore.
This Hunter was truly nauseatingly persistent; did he really want to catch them that badly?

Mono thought indignantly to himself.
He had already sentenced the Hunter to death.
"We'll swim across."
Mono called out to Little Six again.
Little Six's movents were still very agile; as soon as the words left his mouth, she began paddling.
Soon, they swam out of the corner.
By the dim light, Mono clearly saw the things floating in the Stinking Gutter.
Aside from decaying leaves and wood, there were also unidentified chunks of rotting at, strands of hair, and piles of bones.
Flies hovered over the gutter, buzzing in a way that made one feel restless and irritable.
