"Is this a school of fish?" Dr. Glasses said, hoping his guess was correct.

This was only the first day, and only half of it had passed.

One team quitting is enough; we don’t want another.

Besides, they were lucky to have a perfect campsite and a food source.

"Hope so." Song Jia also didn’t want anyone to be eliminated or encounter danger.

"Look, they’re leaving the lake." Liu Yi said happily. No matter what the shadow was, she felt it was safest to leave the water.

Sun Bei imdiately let out a sigh of relief. It would be heartbreaking if those two beautiful girls encountered danger.

"Sister Yan, are you sure we were in danger just now?" Yun Qing asked Su Yan as they had just co ashore. She felt they could swim a bit longer. The lake’s water temperature was just right, and the water was crystal clear.

Just as she finished her sentence, a column of water suddenly appeared in the lake. Right after, a dark shadow leaped out of the water.

"Oh my, that’s huge. Good thing we ca up; otherwise, we might have been swallowed." Yun Qing widened her eyes, watching the giant creature fall back into the water, causing a huge splash.

"It was indeed tily; its target must have been us just now. A Qing, do you think if we kill this big guy, we can eat for several months?" Su Yan said sothing serious to the giant creature in the water.

"Oh my god, Sister Yan, are you crazy? How would we kill that thing? Even if we do, cutting it up and transporting it would take a long ti and the blood would attract other beasts." Yun Qing wrung out her wet hair, rolling her eyes speechlessly.

This sister of hers had a different way of thinking.

"We can make a sedative, knock it out, and kill it. I have no issue with cutting it up; the problem is how to transport it." Su Yan wasn’t just talking on a whim; she was confident about killing the big creature in the water.

"My sister, I yield. There are small fish in the lake; can’t we make a fishing rod to catch them instead of provoking that big guy?" Yun Qing still disapproved of Su Yan’s idea; it was too risky.

They weren’t sure yet what other animals were here.

"Coward, let’s go back and set up camp. This isn’t urgent; let it be our ergency food supply for a while." With that, Su Yan wrung her hair and picked up the five already-prepped fish strung together with a shoelace, ready to return to the cave.

The livestream audience was stunned by Su Yan’s statent that she would consider such a huge creature as ergency food.

"Amazing, utterly amazing! I’m totally a fan now, such a cool surgeon!"

"This is strength; this is confidence. I dare say, no one should ss with this Su Yan."

"Homade sedative, waiting for the formula."

"What’s upstairs up to, planning sothing illegal with the sedative?"

The livestream discussion heated up while Su Yan and Yun Qing had already returned to their cave.

The bottom of the cave was a pile of rocks and shrubs.

So Su Yan hoped to tidy it up.

But first, they needed to grill the fish to solve their hunger problem.

Su Yan and Yun Qing chose different gear from Xu Yi’s group; they picked two sets of clothes, an engineer shovel, a pot, a short crossbow, and a box of everlasting matches.

So, making a fire was easy for them.

They picked up so firewood on their way back, and in less than a minute, they had a fire going to grill the fish.

"Other teams are probably still looking for water sources and ideal campsites. Team 233 is already preparing to eat grilled fish. You have to admit, luck is part of skill!" Sun Bei said enviously; he had signed up but wasn’t selected.

If he found the place Team 233 did, he’d have no problem lasting not just 500 days, but two years!

They had a safe place to stay and a food source.

What they lacked were staples and salt, but on a sea island, these things are bound to be found.

After all, they were just starting, and it was a favorable start.

In comparison, Celestial Empress Ivica and Lei Jie were much more unfortunate.

Because Ivica and Lei Jie’s landing point was on a coral reef several dozen ters from the coast.

They tried to get to the island but were constantly pushed back by the sea, unable to get ashore.

Ivica and Lei Jie could only wait for the tide to go out before coming ashore, but they definitely couldn’t rest at night. They couldn’t enter the jungle and could only stay by the sea, enduring the night. Tomorrow, they’ll enter the island when it’s light.

Compared to Ivica’s situation, Xu Yi and Lu Ke weren’t the worst off.

As everyone was ’patrolling’ different livestreams, Xu Yi had already collected enough firewood.

"Xu Yi, great timing; we’ve collected enough water, and the wood’s almost burnt out." Lu Ke had a bit of charcoal on her face, looking sowhat disheveled; her hair was a ss, making her look a bit awkward.

"Do you know how to weave?" Xu Yi asked, having found a place with a type of tree with thick, tough bark suitable for weaving baskets and sandals.

If Lu Ke didn’t know how, his basic weaving skills could teach her.

"Of course I do, didn’t you know? I love crafts!" Lu Ke said with bright eyes, full of confidence.

"You boil the water here; I’ll go fetch so vines and first weave a pair of sandals for myself." With that, Xu Yi put the firewood down and went up the mountain with the engineer shovel.

After walking for over ten minutes, Xu Yi reached a place where a tree the thickness of a Longhorn beetle grew. The trunk was smooth and approximately 3 ters long, topped with an umbrella-shaped canopy.

Xu Yi chopped one down and found that the umbrella tree was very sturdy.

"This could make a good spear shaft. With a spearhead, it could be a javelin for hunting." Xu Yi muttered to himself, continually sawing at the umbrella trees with the engineer shovel.

After sawing, he peeled off the bark.

Xu Yi spent a good half-hour working, then cut two thinner umbrella trees and returned with more than twenty strips of their bark.

Lu Ke was sipping water from a stainless-steel pot when Xu Yi returned.

Seeing him, Lu Ke said sowhat sheepishly, "I was so thirsty, and the water temperature was just right, so..."

Xu Yi put down his things, smiling, "Silly, if you’re thirsty, you should drink. We are one whole team. Just do what you think is right. If it’s wrong, I’ll stop you, and you can correct too."

"We need mutual trust and assistance to survive in this unfamiliar wilderness."
