"Are you weaving fabric?" Xu Yi steadied the pot on the fire and glanced at Lu Ke, who was still busy with her handiwork.
"Yeah, I’m thinking of making you a piece of clothing. Look at your back, the skin is starting to peel." Lu Ke said while working, not stopping her hands.
"It’s a pity I don’t know the structure of a weaving machine; otherwise, it would be great to make one for you." Xu Yi touched his nose, speaking with a bit of helplessness.
"No need to go through all that trouble. I can slowly weave by hand just fine." Lu Ke glanced at Xu Yi, thinking that nobody could know everything—that would be like being an encyclopedia!
"I do understand the principles; I just haven’t seen one in person. I can spend so ti pondering it." Xu Yi grinned, feeling like he was standing on the shoulders of giants.
People from that era could invent things, so maybe he could manage it too.
However, it’s only in the evening that there’s ti to ponder things. During the day, we’re definitely busy with ’making a living.’
"Mm." Lu Ke nodded, refraining from saying anything discouraging, fearing it would dampen Xu Yi’s enthusiasm. Besides, Xu Yi is a very reliable guy—he wouldn’t waste ti on unproductive things.
"Alright, the fish fillets are ready to eat. Eat, and then get so sleep. I’ve had a full nap and can continue making the hunting bow later." Xu Yi said, pulling out bowls and chopsticks and serving two bowls of fish fillets.
"This is our first late-night snack. When we have more surplus food, we can try so barbeque." Xu Yi joked, holding his bowl.
"Brewing so fruit wine to go with it would make it perfect." Lu Ke once tasted fruit wine and loved the flavor, wanting to try it again. But her health hadn’t allowed it.
Now, in this world, it’s as if illnesses have vanished.
So, the fruit wine she longed for can now be brewed herself.
"Good idea. Once we solve the camp’s security issues, we can start exploring this area extensively. Who knows, there might be fruit trees." Xu Yi nodded despite not being a big drinker. A bit of alcohol to stimulate the blood and brain can be quite delightful now and then.
Song Jia: "Xu Yi and Lu Ke dare to dream big, thinking about barbeque and fruit wine?"
Even though it’s midnight, many people hadn’t gone to sleep.
Among them was the host, Song Jia.
"Hey, miss Song Jia is still up, watching our young man’s streaming room. Don’t you have your own stream tomorrow?"
Song Jia: "I’m not watching Xu Yi; I prefer Lu Ke. This kid is so clean."
Sowhat like her old self.
Unfortunately, she didn’t dare say that out loud.
Typing on her phone, Song Jia replied. She ended her streams at 9 PM and often road through different rooms afterward. No choice—she’s a hobody.
With Song Jia’s presence, the live stream’s comnts increased imdiately.
Various comnts gossiping about Song Jia’s private life popped up, but she paid them no attention.
No way she’d talk about such matters online.
When too many people asked, Song Jia simply exited Xu Yi and Lu Ke’s streaming room to care for her skin and prepare to rest.
In the wilderness, refinent is destined to be impossible.
Lu Ke brushed her teeth with charcoal residue, then washed her face with cold water.
Every night before bed, she did this. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to sleep.
Xu Yi also freshened up, then picked up the hunting bow, still less than a third complete, and took out his dagger to continue trimming away excess wood.
Lu Ke said ’goodnight’ to Xu Yi and slipped into her sleeping bag.
Perhaps because Xu Yi lay on it for a few hours today, a hint of his scent lingered.
But Lu Ke didn’t mind; she found a comfortable position, slowly drifting into sleep.
Xu Yi’s muscles no longer felt sore like they did when night fell; otherwise, he wouldn’t be trimming the hunting bow now.
After over an hour of work, as sleepiness initially nudged him, Xu Yi set down the hunting bow and returned to his rest.
This ti, the first to wake up was Xu Yi.
Lu Ke wasn’t clinging to him like an octopus; she lay on her side, sleeping soundly.
Cautiously slipping out of his sleeping bag, Xu Yi stepped outside.
"Check-in!" Xu Yi said to the system in his mind.
It’s the 8th day adventuring in the wilderness, 6 days since the last check-in package.
After tomorrow, he can collect a new Basic Gift Package again.
Given the practicality of past packages, Xu Yi was quite excited for the new one.
Having fetched so water with the pot, Xu Yi tossed more firewood onto the fire.
Then, Xu Yi picked up the Engineer Shovel.
Dropping a door beam over the trap like a small bridge, he stepped outside.
Surveying the area, he found no signs of animals visiting last night.
"About two-fifths of the work left; won’t take all day today." Xu Yi jumped into the trap, getting to work.
"Xu Yi’s recovery is impressive. Last night he could barely hold chopsticks, now he’s digging bright and early!"
"If you’re 19, you can too. It’s the advantage of youth!"
"It’s all thanks to our Loli Ke’s massage for Xu Yi last night. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bounced back so fast!"
"Xu Yi can finish the trap trench today—finally we can sleep peacefully!"
"Yeah, with this little ’moat,’ most animals won’t stand a chance."
"Considering the upper statents, are there animals that aren’t afraid of these traps?"
"Not that they aren’t afraid, but if they land, they won’t be trapped. For example, bears or giant snakes."
"There shouldn’t be bears in this forest, right?"
"Can’t say for sure. This forest is extensive and connects to others. Who knows what’s beyond the cliff edge? Any creature might appear."
"Anyhow, black bears and tigers have popped up in other streaming rooms."
"What the heck, they’re real? Let’s check that streaming room!"
Since Xu Yi woke up at 7 AM today, there’s quite a crowd in the live stream.
Unbeknownst to him, fierce creatures like black bears and tigers had appeared in other streams; otherwise, he’d dig his traps a bit deeper, ensuring nothing could escape.
After working for a while, Lu Ke woke up.
Hearing the activity outside and the open door, she knew Xu Yi was already digging.
Hastily washing up, she took two fish and prepared to cook breakfast.
