"Boss, Wu Zhao reporting in."

Following the soldier in was Wu Zhao. This guy was also covered in blood, clearly having been through a vicious battle.

"Boss, am I the first to arrive?"

Qin Yi smiled, "Third."

"Damn, who are the two before ?"

"Cong Yang first, Xiahou Jun second, you third."

"Cong Yang actually got here first?" Wu Zhao's face was full of disbelief.

Qin Yi laughed, "As long as you're here, don't worry about the order. Are you injured?"

Wu Zhao shook his head.

"Alright, go grab sothing to eat and rest for a bit."

That day, more than a dozen people arrived.

But what intrigued Qin Yi was that Xuan Zhan, Bai Siyin, and Murong Qianxun hadn't shown up. Logically, these individuals were standouts in the Peace Army and should have arrived early.

Could sothing have happened?

On the surface, Qin Yi remained calm, but inwardly, he was extrely worried.

By the next day, another dozen people had arrived.

... Until the seventh day, everyone had arrived, except Xuan Zhan, Murong Qianxun, and Bai Siyin.

Lin Zhengnan said smugly, "There's half an hour left until our agreed ti. You're going to lose."

Qin Yi frowned but didn't speak. He wasn't concerned about winning or losing now; he was worried about Xuan Zhan and the others' safety.

Lin Zhengnan noticed Qin Yi's concern and comforted him, "With ninety-seven out of a hundred in such a perilous place as the Tianqian, it's already remarkable."

"Those three will definitely arrive."

Lin Zhengnan sneered, having little hope. If they hadn't appeared by now, they were probably already dead.

Ti ticked away second by second.

Only a few minutes were left.

Qin Yi's expression noticeably grew anxious.

As the city lord of the Desert City, accustod to life and death, the absence of three people didn't concern Lin Zhengnan.

"There's two minutes left, it looks like I've won."

Qin Yi glanced at him but said nothing.

Xuan Zhan, Bai Siyin, and Murong Qianxun weren't just top fighters from the Peace Army; they were also apprentices of the Xuanwu elder. If anything had happened, how could he explain when he returned?

At that mont, a warrior from the City Lord's Mansion ca running in a hurry.

Qin Yi's eyes lit up. Were Bai Siyin and the others here?

"City Lord, Captain Wang Zheng has returned."

Disappointnt was written all over Qin Yi's face. Although he was acquainted with Wang Zheng, his primary concern now was Xuan Zhan and the others.

A flurry of hurried footsteps sounded.

Wang Zheng appeared with a group of people running in.

"City Lord, please save them." Behind Wang Zheng, Desert Sea warriors, two per stretcher, carried a total of three stretchers, each bearing a blood-soaked, unconscious individual.

Qin Yi was greatly shocked; those three were actually Xuan Zhan and his companions.

Qin Yi rushed over imdiately.

"Qin Yi?" Wang Zheng was startled to see Qin Yi there, not expecting him to be present.

But Qin Yi couldn't engage in small talk; he went straight to the side of the three and began to channel energy to assess their condition.

Xuan Zhan and the others were severely injured both externally and internally, teetering on the brink of death.

Qin Yi quickly moved energy to heal them, a swirling purple light enfolding the three.

After a full half-hour, Qin Yi finally breathed a slight sigh of relief. The injuries of Xuan Zhan and company were too severe. If not for him, it's unlikely anyone else could have saved them.

"What happened to them?" Qin Yi asked Wang Zheng.

Wang Zheng was taken aback but then said, "You know them?"

"They are my brothers and sisters."

Wang Zheng realized, quickly explaining, "I found them at the edge of the Sand Sea. They encountered a beast horde. When I found them, they were already like this. But those three are truly ruthless; they wiped out a small group of beasts, no less than a hundred fierce beasts in total."

Qin Yi felt a lingering fear. If Wang Zheng hadn't happened upon them, Xuan Zhan and the others might have perished in the Sand Sea.

"Thank you, Brother Wang."

Wang Zheng shook his head, "No need for thanks. Why are you back again?"

Qin Yi recounted his reasons for returning.

Wang Zheng laughed, "That's good news. These people are made of sterner stuff than imagined. To think your team includes individuals who are not only capable but also fiercely determined, not letting won be overshadowed."

Wang Zheng was referring to Murong Qianxun, the only woman among the Peace Army.

"Brother Wang, have them taken down to be carefully tended to. They should regain consciousness shortly."

Wang Zheng instructed his n to carry Xuan Zhan and the others away.

"Qin Yi, if you trust , leave these people to . In a year, I'll return them to you as a pack of wolves and tigers." Wang Zheng laughed.

Qin Yi laughed, "It's settled, then. I have no worries leaving them to you."

As Qin Yi and Wang Zheng chatted happily, Lin Zhengnan's expression changed, his face full of dissatisfaction.

Why?

Because in the last few seconds, Wang Zheng had brought back the Xuanwu trio, and Lin Zhengnan lost, losing a thousand Earth Spirit Stones.

"Couldn't you have co back three to five seconds later?" Lin Zhengnan said angrily to Wang Zheng.

Wang Zheng was bewildered, wondering what madness had overtaken the city lord.

Qin Yi explained the bet, and Wang Zheng was amused after listening.

"Old Lin, if you keep talking like that, do you believe I won't slap you? Those are my brothers and sisters; three to five seconds later and they'd be dead."

Lin Zhengnan was full of displeasure.

Qin Yi said with annoyance, "Alright, stop acting so petty. In light of Brother Wang, the bet is off, and you can keep the thousand Earth Spirit Stones."

Lin Zhengnan looked at Qin Yi in surprise, "Really? Are you really this generous?"

"Nonsense, nothing is more important than the life of my brothers and sisters."

Lin Zhengnan gave a peculiar look, "Didn't realize you had so much loyalty. Nice acting."

Qin Yi: "..."

"Is the bet really canceled?"

Qin Yi grit his teeth, "I said it's off, it's off. Keep babbling, and I'll break your teeth, believe it?"

"You call it off, I don't agree."

"Hmm?" Qin Yi looked at Lin Zhengnan in surprise.

Lin Zhengnan said proudly, "As the city lord, my words are as good as gold. If I go back on my word, how will I command respect from my subordinates? You're not going to set up, kid."

Qin Yi was even more surprised. Suddenly, he raised his hand, the purple light rolling, directly suppressing Lin Zhengnan.

Lin Zhengnan couldn't move, exclaiming, "What are you trying to do, kid?"

Qin Yi stepped forward, grabbing Lin Zhengnan's old face with both hands and pulling it apart, mumbling, "What kind of monster are you? Show your true form. You're definitely not the stingy Old Lin I know."

Wang Zheng was stunned. What had he just seen? Qin Yi raised his hand and subdued the city lord. When did his cultivation beco so formidable? This cultivation speed was outrageous!

"Bastard, let go of . Kid, I'm not done with you; be gentle... you're about to tear my face off." Lin Zhengnan cried out in pain, this rascal Qin Yi was too ruthless, actually about to tear his face off.
