"Mr. Qin, besides prostitutes and courtesans, there's the oiran, who are selected and in terms of looks, they're no less than..."
Old Liu stopped abruptly, glancing around nervously to ensure Yun ngyao was not present before relaxing.
"No less than Yun ngyao, correct?" Qin Yi asked with a smile.
Old Liu nodded quietly, whispering, "Not only that, the oiran excels in poetry, song, chess, calligraphy, and painting. But sadly, Miss Ruyi has held the position for three years and still hasn't had a special guest."
"Ruyi?" Qin Yi looked up at the sign.
"You guessed it, Mr. Qin. It wasn't called that before. After Miss Ruyi beca the oiran, it was renad Ruyi Hall."
Qin Yi seed intrigued, "If possible, I'd like to et this oiran lady."
"With your handso looks and incredible cultivation, Mr. Qin, you definitely have a chance."
Qin Yi chuckled, sensing Old Liu's flattering words. In such a vast primordial world, there are surely no lack of handso and powerful people, yet Miss Ruyi has been unrivaled for three years without a special guest; this speaks volus about her high standards.
"Apart from the oiran, there are private courtesans and official courtesans."
Curiously, Qin Yi asked, "I understand official courtesans, but what are private courtesans?"
Old Liu explained, "Private courtesans are won kept by dignitaries who sotis, for appearances, can't bring them ho. So they're kept in a brothel, exclusive to their private needs."
"Mistresses?" Qin Yi was astonished. Isn't that keeping a mistress?
Old Liu was utterly confused, not knowing what keeping a mistress ant.
Just then, a charming young man, as attractive as Qin Yi, approached, "Good day, gentlen."
Old Liu impatiently waved him off, "Save your etiquette and move along."
Qin Yi smirked, casting a playful glance at Old Liu.
"Are you looking for trouble?" The young man's deanor suddenly shifted to one of nace.
Old Liu was enraged and was about to retaliate when he suddenly noticed the young man's familiarity. Recognizing him as Yun ngyao, Old Liu turned pale with fright.
"Ah, it's Fairy Yun, forgive !"
Qin Yi chuckled, "Seems you've set your mind on accompanying us in."
"I worry you'll be enchanted by the fox spirits inside. Besides, Bingbing is my best friend, and since she's not here, I have to watch over you."
Qin Yi looked bemused, "You ant best friend, right?"
Yun ngyao paused, "Yes, best friend."
Qin Yi: "..."
Best friend? Like two turtles soaking in a sugar jar?
"How do I look in this disguise?"
Qin Yi glanced at Yun ngyao's chest, bewildered, "I'm curious, how did you flatten your chest?"
Yun ngyao blushed, angrily retorting, "Look again, and I'll gouge your eyes out!"
Old Liu quickly appeased, "Fairy Yun's transformation is truly convincing. You'll surely charm the ladies inside."
Qin Yi remarked with a smile, "Indeed. I reckon the ladies inside would serve you for free."
Yun ngyao glared at him impatiently, "From a dog's mouth, nothing but filth cos out. Let's get in already."
The three made their way inside.
"Oh, what a handso young man. Would you let accompany you?"
Standing at the entrance to greet guests were the prostitutes, living by selling their bodies. Yun ngyao was too alluring; upon arriving, she was surrounded by a group of heavily made-up prostitutes.
Yun ngyao was in distress, frantically avoiding the won's groping hands.
Qin Yi wore an expression of schadenfreude.
Old Liu, however, was filled with envy.
Yun ngyao looked to Qin Yi for help.
Qin Yi rely shrugged, showing he could do nothing.
Grinding her teeth, Yun ngyao suddenly had an idea, pointing at Qin Yi, and exclaid, "I'm just an attendant. My lord is over there. Go serve him well; he's generous with money."
Hearing Yun ngyao was just an attendant, the won imdiately released her. They, living by their youth, were more realistic than most and quickly surrounded Qin Yi.
Yun ngyao grinned slyly, ready for a show at Qin Yi's expense.
Unexpectedly, Qin Yi put his arms around the girls, shouting, "Serve well, and there'll be rewards!"
Yun ngyao was dumbstruck, then grumbled fiercely, "Scoundrel, finally showing your true colors."
A group of girls clustered around Qin Yi and Old Liu, entering the building.
As for Yun ngyao, the attendant, no one paid her any mind.
"Little Yun, keep up," Qin Yi called out.
Little Yun?
Grinding her pristine teeth, Yun ngyao barely resisted the urge to pounce on Qin Yi and bite him.
Inside, the sound of guzheng and jovial chatter filled the lively atmosphere.
Ruyi Hall had two levels; entertainnt on the lower and guest rooms on the upper. As the saying goes, after satisfying one's needs, it's ti to head upstairs.
The place was lavishly decorated with a notably thoughtful layout.
Qin Yi found a mont to ask Old Liu, "Where's the black market?"
"Mr. Qin, the black market hasn't started yet; there's about an hour to go. When it does, several won will appear by the second floor staircase. They're powerful cultivators and don't entertain guests. For the right price, they'll take you to the black market."
Seeing Old Liu enjoying himself, Qin Yi teased, "Are you deliberately stalling for pleasure?"
Old Liu quickly protested, "Even with all the daring in the world, I wouldn't dare deceive Mr. Qin."
"Alright then, we'll wait for half an hour."
Qin Yi, surrounded by the ladies, sat on a soft couch.
"Ladies, bring good food and wine, and you'll be rewarded." he said, tossing out two gold bars.
Most use silver or gold coins here, but Qin Yi was the first to bring gold bars. The weight of a single bar could be exchanged for dozens of gold coins, more than they'd earn in a year.
Seeing Qin Yi's generosity, the ladies beca even more enthusiastic, eager to please.
Delicious food and wine were promptly served.
Qin Yi and the ladies raised their cups and drank, utterly enjoying themselves.
Yun ngyao stood aside, furiously resentful, out of sync with the lively atmosphere.
"Go, find two girls to play music and sing." Qin Yi decided to indulge in an experience unlike any on Earth.
Soon, two lovely, elegant young won arrived, cradling guzhengs, and respectfully, with gentle smiles, they sat beside Qin Yi, one playing, the other singing.
These were courtesans, performing arts without selling themselves.
Listening to the music and drinking wine, Qin Yi swayed joyously. Occasionally, a delicate hand would offer him grapes, but he dared not eat, for these were prostitutes, the opposite of the courtesans, selling their bodies rather than art. Who knows where their hands had been?
