"It's the Second Prince."

Li Shuangcheng said tremblingly.

Qin Yi had heard Yun Susu ntion that each reigning Yunyue Empire Emperor could only rule for a hundred years before abdicating in favor of a worthy successor. After all, given the terrifying longevity of Qi Refiners, if one emperor could rule for hundreds or even thousands of years, what hope would there be for these princes and princesses?

Moreover, the successor to the Yunyue Empire Emperor is solely determined by ability, not gender. This ans that as long as one's ability is adequate, both princes and princesses can beco the next emperor.

Currently, the ones with the highest support are the Eldest Prince, the Second Prince, and the Second Princess.

Originally, Yun Susu had the highest support because her mother was the Empress. However, after her mother was frad and deposed, and relegated into the cold palace, those who once supported Yun Susu abandoned her for other factions.

Qin Yi said indifferently, "Killing and Yun ngyao was your idea, but shouldn't the Second Prince also be aware that the Third Princess arrived in Bolan City? Did he not plan to do anything? Killing the Three Kings was no small feat for the Third Princess this ti; I can't believe those vying for power wouldn't be wary."

Li Shuangcheng shivered all over. Qin Yi indeed had the ability to see through people's hearts; his intellect was almost demonic, as if nothing could be hidden from him.

"The Second Prince ordered us not to harm the Third Princess in Bolan City but wanted us to ensure her route upon leaving."

Qin Yi chuckled coldly, "So the Second Prince then dispatches soone to ambush her, right? This Second Prince really knows how to plan for you. If the Third Princess dies in Bolan City, you'd have a hard ti excusing yourself."

Li Shuangchen hung his head, daring not to speak.

Qin Yi said calmly, "I suppose you're not foolish, you should understand that the Second Prince isn't looking out for you; he needs your support now, so you must remain unhard."

Li Shuangcheng naturally understood this.

Qin Yi looked at the two of them, "Now, I'm giving you two options. First, choose to support the Third Princess. Second, you die."

Li Shuangcheng wanted to curse. Is this even a choice? Is there really any choice?

Qin Yi said nonchalantly, "Actually, if I wanted to help elevate the Third Princess, I wouldn't even need the two of you. You should have so understanding of my capabilities; this is giving you a chance to live."

"What? Is it difficult to decide? I don't have ti for you to contemplate; I'll count to three, and you'll give an answer. Three… two… one…"

"We agree." Li Shuangcheng hurriedly replied, trembling.

Qin Yi's lips curled slightly, "A wise choice. But how can I trust you?"

"I-I can swear an oath."

Qin Yi sneered, full of disdain, "Such intangible things, I've never believed in them."

As he finished speaking, Qin Yi slowly raised his hand, a Purple Light gathering in his palm, forming a thumb-sized purple orb that shimred brilliantly.

With a flick of his finger, the purple orb flew straight out, embedding itself in Zhang Cheng's forehead.

Zhang Cheng instinctively raised his hand to touch his forehead but felt nothing, looking at Qin Yi with fear.

Qin Yi smiled slightly.

Suddenly, Zhang Cheng's face changed drastically, his features contorting in pain as he rolled on the ground, wailing miserably.

He felt as though countless fiery needles were tearing through his brain, causing excruciating pain.

"Bang, bang…!"

Zhang Cheng slamd his head against the ground, his forehead a bloody ss. The blood vessels on his body bulged, seeming ready to burst at any mont, his whole body wracked with spasms, his features grotesque and twisted.

"Kill , kill … please give a quick death, kill …"

Blood seeped from Zhang Cheng's eyes and ears, his appearance terrifying.

Li Shuangcheng trembled uncontrollably, frozen with fear at the level of pain that could make a person beg for death.

Qin Yi slowly raised his hand, a ray of Purple Light shooting out and entering Zhang Cheng's body. The unbearable pain receded like a tidal wave, and Zhang Cheng gasped heavily as if he'd been pulled out of water, his face pale as a sheet, barely a breath more lively than a corpse.

Qin Yi once again ford a purple orb and shot it into Li Shuangcheng's forehead.

Li Shuangcheng felt his blood run cold, trembling uncontrollably.

"Now I feel more at ease! As for swearing an oath, let's just forget about that. This is the Soul Devouring Pearl; once activated, it will make you suffer imasurable pain, unable to live or die. The agony will be etched in your soul for lifetis, haunting you even in your next life with tremors.

Of course, as long as you follow my directions, I guarantee your safety. Don't even think about dispelling it; there's nothing you can do. Besides , there's no one in this world who can remove the Soul Devouring Pearl."

Li Shuangcheng was paralyzed with fear; a City Lord, a formidable Body Integration Realm Cultivator, was utterly frightened out of his wits.

"I swear, from now on I will do my utmost to assist the Third Princess, looking to you as a guide. Should I break this oath, may I et a miserable end."

Qin Yi smiled indifferently, "For now, only the three of us can know about your support for the Third Princess. You must maintain your connection with the Second Prince. I need you to wait for an opportune mont to stand up and support the Third Princess, aiding her in ascending to the throne.

Soday, you will thank . Compared to the other princes and princesses, the Third Princess is kind-hearted and certainly won't treat you poorly in the future. Were it other princes and princesses, you wouldn't stand a chance; to cover up their misdeeds before ascending the throne, they would eliminate you, for dead n can keep secrets best.

Li Shuangcheng, be smart and understand what you should and shouldn't do. Your life and death are of little consequence to ; whether you live or die depends on your performance."

Before the echo of his words faded, Qin Yi's figure had already disappeared.

It was only after confirming Qin Yi had truly left that Li Shuangcheng collapsed to the ground, dumbfounded, his back thoroughly drenched in sweat.

After a long ti, he ca back to his senses, "Zhang Cheng, are you okay?"

Zhang Cheng weakly shook his head, "As long as Lord War General is fine, I'm relieved."

Li Shuangcheng smiled wryly, "Is this really fine? This ti we truly made a mistake; we never should have opposed Young Master Qin…"

Zhang Cheng nodded with difficulty, eyes full of terror.

Qin Yi was terrifying, so terrifying that they couldn't muster any resistance against him.

...

...

The next day, Qin Yi and the others were set to leave.

"Farewell, Princess, Young Master Qin, Miss Yun, take care on your journey."

Li Shuangcheng escorted the group, leading them out of the city.

Yun Susu's eyes flickered with confusion; she couldn't quite understand. Li Shuangcheng's deanor towards Qin Yi was even more respectful than towards her.

Perhaps last night's events frightened him?

This world indeed respects the strong; power is king. After witnessing Qin Yi's thods, who wouldn't be afraid?

After they parted, Yun ngyao asked, "Li Shuangcheng won't send people after us again, will he?"

Yun Susu shared the sa concern.
