But the impression he’d left was too deep, so even after so many days, she still recognized him at a glance.

Before the waitress even reached the table, the man seed to sense Xu Su’s gaze and turned his head toward the entrance. Their eyes t.

A strange feeling suddenly welled up inside Xu Su.

’Don’t tell he’s the one who found my phone?’

Sotis her premonitions were so accurate they surprised even her...

Sure enough, the waitress walked straight up to the man. Before she could even speak, he had already stood up, holding none other than Xu Su’s phone.

She was still using the limited-edition rose gold phone Shen Chen had given her. In terms of appearance, it completely outclassed every other brand and model on the market.

Xu Su found it very easy to use and had no plans to get a new one anyti soon.

The waiter who had led Xu Su here explained the situation to his colleague and then hurried off.

So, when the man walked out of the private room and casually closed the door behind him, the empty hallway was left with just the two of them.

He was another incredibly tall man, and Xu Su could feel a faint sense of pressure from his presence. She took a subtle step back and was about to speak when he held out the phone and said softly, "Xu Su?"

"...?" Hearing him say her na as she took the phone, Xu Su looked up in surprise.

He gestured toward her phone. "Sorry, I accidentally saw your notifications."

’Oh...’

’Soone in the group chat must have @-ntioned by na.’

Her ssage previews were visible even on the lock screen.

Xu Su nodded and thanked him. "Thank you so much for finding my phone..."

Halfway through, she felt sothing was off...

She cleared her throat. "Anyway, thank you."

After repeating her thanks, Xu Su was about to leave when a hand appeared in front of her...

"Hello, Xu Su. I’m Si Xuan," the man said, extending his right hand with a slight smile. He added, "Spelled with the character for ’precipice’."

"!!..." The initial shock of hearing his na was imdiately tempered by his clarification, and it morphed into a dry laugh. "Hello."

Her voice ca out a bit muffled through her mask, and no one could tell if she was smiling or not.

Not that Xu Su had any intention of taking off her mask...

She tugged at her mask and formally began to take her leave. "If there’s nothing else, I won’t disturb your al..."

She was only halfway through her sentence when she heard the man say, "I’m also Si Xuan. The Si Xuan you know."

"..." Xu Su’s eyes widened as she stared at the man before her.

’Ex-hubby?’

’Ah... No, no, what am I thinking? He’s not my ex-hubby.’

For so reason, Xu Su rembered their last eting, when she hadn’t been wearing a mask...

"So, did you recognize last ti?"

"I wasn’t quite sure last ti," Si Xuan said, looking at her with a smile. "But this ti, I’m certain."

Xu Su was speechless. ’He found my phone and saw all my group chat notifications. Of course he’s certain.’

"So, can we get properly acquainted now?" Si Xuan wiggled the right hand he had been holding out for a while.

"..." Xu Su paused for a mont before shaking his hand.

’This is way too formal for a first eting...’

"Um," Xu Su said, feeling awkward. It was her first ti eting an online friend, and in such a situation. "I should get back to my room. I’ve been gone too long..."

"Xu Su!"

Shen Chen’s voice from a short distance away cut her off.

Xu Su turned to see Shen Chen striding toward them, his expression holding a rare coldness. He looked just like a wife catching her husband cheating...

The comparison made Xu Su’s skin crawl. She quickly thought, ’No, no, no, bad thought!’

"Didn’t you say you were going to the restroom? What are you doing here?" Shen Chen stopped in front of Xu Su, his gaze dropping to her hand shaking Si Xuan’s. A cold glint flashed in his eyes. "What’s this? You know him?"

Xu Su said, "I left my phone by the sink, and he found it, so I ca to get it."

She explained briefly, pulled her hand back, and said to Si Xuan with another smile, "Well, we’ll be heading back. Thank you so much for today."

Si Xuan’s smile didn’t waver. His gaze swept over Shen Chen before returning to Xu Su’s masked face. "Take care."

"..." ’Didn’t Nanyang and the others say Si Xuan was a really cold person in real life?’

’Why hasn’t he stopped smiling...?’

Beside her, Shen Chen’s expression grew colder. The corner of his lip curled into a smirk as he looked at Si Xuan, who simply returned his gaze calmly. Their eyes t, each silently sizing the other up, yet neither seed inclined to speak first.

Xu Su found the situation getting stranger and stranger. She grabbed Shen Chen’s arm. "Let’s go, let’s go. The way you two are looking at each other is going to give the wrong idea."

Shen Chen shot Si Xuan one last look and let Xu Su pull him away. Only when they were so distance off did he glance at her and ask, "What wrong idea?"

He clearly didn’t get what she ant...

Of course, Xu Su wasn’t about to say that watching two n, who were equally matched in both height and bearing, staring at each other like that made her want to ’ship’ them...

’Yikes...’

’It’s not like I’m a fujoshi or anything!’

Back in their private room, neither of them had any appetite left.

Shen Chen looked sourly at the hand Si Xuan had held. "You were just getting your phone. How did hand-holding get involved?"

Xu Su replied without a hint of guilt, "We were just introducing ourselves. He offered his hand, it would’ve been rude not to shake it."

"Is that so?" Shen Chen gave a bland smile, his tone becoming increasingly snide. "It’s because he’s good-looking, isn’t it? If it had been so sleazy guy, would you still have shaken his hand?"

"Shen Chen!" Xu Su glared.

"What?" Shen Chen put on an innocent expression. "Did I say sothing wrong?"

"Nothing’s wrong, you’re absolutely right!" Xu Su ground her teeth and glared at him. "Si Xuan is handso. He’s graceful and distinguished, elegant and refined. You couldn’t be like him even if you were jealous!"

You couldn’t be like him even if you were jealous...

What did it an for a remark to be soul-crushing? With each passing encounter, Shen Chen was gaining a deeper understanding.

His face turned pale with anger, and he didn’t speak for a long mont.

Seeing his expression, however, Xu Su realized she had gone too far. This man, who could usually take a joke, was genuinely angry...

"Um," Xu Su waved her hand in front of his expressionless face and explained laly, "I didn’t an you’re not as good as him. Shen Chen, I’m just used to speaking my mind around you. Don’t take it seriously."

Shen Chen remained motionless, not even blinking.

Xu Su wondered, ’Is he really that sensitive?’

"Hey, co on, Shen Chen. Are you really that thin-skinned? You believe everything I say? Don’t you have any idea what you’re worth? I say you couldn’t be like him if you were jealous, and you just accept it as fact? Why don’t you argue back?!"

Xu Su fired off a series of questions, then rushed over to shake Shen Chen’s arm. "Stand up and argue with !"

Shen Chen’s eyes shifted. He looked at her. "Argue with you about what?"
