Now reading: Chapter 104 - 105: Wood Essence Jade Marrow from Longevity: Comprehending the Heart Method, a Eastern novel by Pen of First Intent.

Five Elents Spiritual Veins are born from the concentrated essence of the world’s Five Elents. They are often hidden within great rivers or towering mountain ranges. Moreover, Spiritual Objects conceal themselves; an undeveloped Spiritual Vein will be shrouded by a natural Barrier, isolating it from the outside world.

To get inside, one must find the correct entrance. This was why Song Changsheng had to report to the clan first after discovering the Wood Spirit Vein.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to claim a few benefits for himself first—he simply lacked the ability. An Earth Master or a Barrier Master had to be present to find the correct entrance.

That was just one reason. An even more important point was that Five Elents Spiritual Veins nurture Five Elents Demon Spirits. They are not true demons but are ford from condensed Five Elents Essence Qi. They have no Spiritual Wisdom and no emotions, but they are extrely dangerous.

A Wood Spirit Vein nurtures Wood Demon Spirits. They are nurous, and to develop the Spiritual Vein, one must first clear them all out.

According to ancient records, a Tier Two Wood Spirit Vein will nurture at least several Tier Two Wood Demon Spirits, comparable to Foundation Establishnt Cultivators. Although they are the weakest of their kind, if they attacked as a group, even Song Changsheng couldn’t withstand them.

"Everyone, the entrance to the Spiritual Vein has been located. Please attack the Barrier together and open a breach!" Song Luyou shouted.

Hearing this, Song Changsheng and the other two stepped forward in unison, simultaneously circulating the Spiritual Power in their bodies. Facing the Barrier, they pushed out a palm together. In that instant, their Spiritual Power roared to life, gathering in mid-air to form a Flood Dragon.

BOOM—

The Flood Dragon crashed against the Barrier, sending ripples spreading across its surface. The cultivators struck in succession, and after five attempts, the sturdy Barrier finally shattered, tearing a large opening.

Song Changsheng imdiately took out an Array Foundation and several Array Banners, quickly setting up an Array at the opening to stabilize the passage and ensure their retreat path was clear.

"Changda, Changxue, you two stay behind and guard. Don’t let anyone else approach. The rest of you, co with us." Xia Yunxue selected two younger Law Enforcent Disciples to stay behind, then led the others through the Barrier.

The mont Song Changsheng passed through the Barrier, the scene before him changed completely. The yellow earth and rocks all vanished, replaced by a treasured land filled with the songs of birds, the fragrance of flowers, and vibrant life. As far as the eye could see, Spirit dicines covered the mountains.

"As expected of a Tier Two Wood Spirit Vein. The number of Spirit dicines is staggering. Not even the Wutong Secret Realm can compare to this," Song Luhuai remarked with deep emotion, his eyes shining with excitent.

"Indeed. The Life Force is so rich, I can feel the bottleneck in my cultivation loosening a bit." Xia Yunxue possessed a Wood Spirit Root, so she had a more direct perception of the Wood Spirit Vein.

"Mother, Twelfth Uncle, look over there," Song Changsheng said, suddenly pointing to a distant hillside.

Xia Yunxue looked into the distance and saw three illusory, humanoid creatures floating there. They faintly emanated Spiritual Power fluctuations, equivalent to Human Race Qi Cultivators.

"These must be the Wood Demon Spirits. Neither human, nor soul, nor beast, nor spirit. Truly strange," Song Luhuai remarked, stroking his beard.

"Enough with the sighs, Twelfth Uncle. We should clear them out first, lest delays cause new problems," Song Changsheng said, taking out the Broken Water Spear he had confiscated from Zhangg Chenlong, eager for a fight.

"Sheng’Er is right," Xia Yunxue shouted to the Law Enforcent Disciples. "Form pairs and clear out the Tier One Demon Spirits. Ensure your own safety, but do it as quickly as possible!"

"Yes, ma’am!"

The eighteen Law Enforcent Disciples instantly split into nine groups and headed off in different directions.

The three of them—Song Changsheng, Song Luhuai, and Xia Yunxue—split up, each heading in a different direction to search for the Tier Two Demon Spirits. Although the Spiritual Vein wasn’t vast, it was still several miles long, and the number of Demon Spirits it nurtured was considerable.

Song Changsheng rode his Lotus Platform, flying close to the ground. He would effortlessly deal with any Demon Spirits he encountered along the way. These Demon Spirits had no Spiritual Wisdom and their thods of attack were simplistic; a Song Clan disciple could handle two or three of the sa tier without a problem.

After being slain, these Demon Spirits would transform into a ball of pure Wood Spirit Essence, which was excellent for either cultivation or Alchemy. The only issue was the small amount; a single Tier One Demon Spirit only condensed into a piece the size of a pinky fingernail.

SWISH!

Suddenly, a blast of Spiritual Force shot toward Song Changsheng. With a slight turn of his palm, a Spirit Shield manifested before him, blocking the attack.

He gripped the spear’s shaft tightly and swung the Long Spear in a wide arc. He felt the weapon dip as it connected, and a Wood Demon Spirit was sent flying by his strike, slamming heavily into a nearby earthen slope.

"A Tier Two Demon Spirit? So weak... It’s not even a match for Qu Jinsheng," Song Changsheng murmured with a slight raise of his eyebrow.

ROAR— The Wood Demon Spirit let out a deep roar and charged at Song Changsheng again. Its Life Force was extrely strong; the injuries from the previous blow healed in the blink of an eye.

Song Changsheng advanced with his spear, and in just a dozen or so rounds, he successfully slew the Tier Two Demon Spirit. After its death, the Demon Spirit condensed into a fist-sized piece of Wood Spirit Essence. Song Changsheng stored it in his Qiankun Bag and then continued his search for more Demon Spirits.

About four hours later, all the Demon Spirits in the Wood Spirit Vein had been wiped out. Song Changsheng had slain three Tier Two Demon Spirits, while Song Luhuai and Xia Yunxue had each slain two.

In addition, there had been over a hundred Tier One Demon Spirits. For this, the Song Clan paid the price of two mbers fallen and five injured. This outco was considered acceptable.

It was said that back when the Li Clan developed that large Tier One Wood Spirit Vein, they paid a heavy price due to insufficient preparation. In comparison, the Song Clan’s losses were minimal.
