As they cautiously stepped into the hall, the sight before them instinctively slowed their footsteps.

Within the grand hall, seaweed and seagrass intertwined to form a green ocean.

The plants swayed gently with the faint water currents, appearing utterly free.

But hidden amidst these plants, the faint outlines of so stone statues could be seen.

"Phew..."

Gu Sheng took a deep breath and moved toward the spot where the light had just flashed.

"Watch out!"

The girl in purple nearby couldn’t help but warn Gu Sheng upon seeing his movent.

"What’s this? You’re worried about now?"

Gu Sheng turned his head, grinning mischievously as he spoke.

"Stop joking around; this place isn’t as simple as you think. Better safe than sorry."

The girl in purple pouted, though her concern was clear despite her dismissive words.

Then, Gu Sheng reached out his hand and gently pushed aside the seaweed in front of him.

"Clang!"

A crystal the size of a fist suddenly fell to the ground.

Gu Sheng bent down to pick it up, only to find it was shattered.

Judging by the cracks, it seed that an imnse force had caused the damage.

Despite being broken, Gu Sheng could still sense a mysterious and powerful energy contained within the crystal.

"There really are treasures here!"

The girl in purple’s eyes lit up, as if she had just discovered hidden gold.

Glancing around, she then suggested to Gu Sheng, "Move all this seaweed aside. There might be even better things underneath!"

"Alright!"

Gu Sheng responded, reaching out his hand to touch the surrounding seaweed.

As he channeled the divine power within him, an invisible ripple spread from his palm outward.

The seaweed and seagrass seed drawn by an unseen force, slowly retreating to the edges.

With the seaweed cleared away, the true image of the hall gradually revealed itself to them.

"This... this..."

The girl in purple’s eyes widened in surprise, so overwheld that she could barely speak.

Dozens of stone statues stood within the hall, each ticulously crafted lifelike enough to seem as though they might co alive at any mont.

The statues varied in posture, so standing, so seated, each with a unique stance.

All of the statues appeared to be holding weapons.

However, the long years underwater had left the weapons covered in substantial rust.

Gu Sheng and the girl in purple exchanged a glance, and each could see shock and curiosity in the other’s eyes.

They began moving among the statues, studying the details of each one.

The faces of the statues were diverse, so with benevolent expressions, others with fierce glares.

Judging by their appearances and attire, these statues seed to possess cultivation spanning thousands—or perhaps tens of thousands—of years.

"Could these statues be the divine guardians of this place?"

Gu Sheng murmured in disbelief.

The girl in purple didn’t reply. Her gaze was fixed on an unusually tall statue.

This particular statue seed to be holding sothing, but due to the passage of ti, the exact shape of the object was indiscernible.

She stepped forward and gently touched the object in the statue’s hand, attempting to sense the power within.

Suddenly, a beam of light shot out from the statue’s hand, illuminating the entire hall.

Gu Sheng and the girl in purple quickly retreated, their eyes filled with vigilance as they scanned their surroundings.

Within the beam of light, the tall statue appeared almost alive.

Its eyes slowly opened, emitting rays of light that intertwined into a radiant net, enveloping the entire hall.

The girl in purple nervously clutched Gu Sheng’s arm, "What’s happening? Did we trigger so sort of trap?"

Gu Sheng focused on the statues, sensing the ancient power contained within the light.

"Don’t be afraid. I’m here!"

Gu Sheng reassured her softly.

As the light gradually faded, the statues returned to their still and silent state.

Then, the outer stone layers of the statues began to peel away.

Soon, the hidden faces beneath each stone statue slowly beca visible.

Their expressions were vivid, as if narrating ancient tales.

The weapons in their hands, whether longswords, bows, or battle hamrs, were exquisitely crafted—both artistic and imbued with a sense of imnse power.

"What... How is this happening?"

Startled by the abrupt transformation, Gu Sheng and the girl in purple stood rooted, their eyes filled with confusion and caution.

Gu Sheng gathered his courage and addressed the nearest statue tentatively, "Who... who are you?"

As soon as his words fell, the statue suddenly began to tremble.

Its once vivid facial expression distorted in an instant, and the weapon in its hand started to rise slowly.

Then, under their astonished gazes, the statue, along with its weapon, crumbled into dust in an instant.

It was as if it had never existed.

Gu Sheng quickly turned to look at the other statues.

He noticed that they, too, began to show signs of peeling.

Each statue revealed its hidden true form before inevitably disintegrating into dust, rging with the lake water.

The process happened so swiftly that they barely had ti to react.

"What’s going on? They’re all disappearing."

The girl in purple stepped back quickly, her face filled with fear.

Gu Sheng made an effort to stay calm, knowing that panic would only lead to greater danger.

"These statues might have been ancient Guardians. Now, they’ve fulfilled their purpose and faded into oblivion."

Gu Sheng sighed softly, his tone tinged with lancholy.

After speaking, Gu Sheng suddenly noticed that after each statue vanished, a small stone remained in its place.

He approached and examined the palm-sized stone closely.
