Chapter 1547: Chapter 91 Breaking Limits_2

“The master left us with you, but you’ve been keeping us stuffed inside the Spirit Beast Bag all this ti. Why summon now?”

Wang Ba looked sowhat ashad:

“Senior, your reproach is well-deserved. This ti, I’ve specifically invited you out to enjoy a al.”

The Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon was slightly surprised upon hearing this. However, when it caught the word ‘al,’ the dissatisfaction in its gaze lessened sowhat. Perhaps due to Du Wei’s excellent nurturing, it hesitated for a mont before shaking its head reservedly and said:

“A al, you say… well…”

Wang Ba, however, smiled faintly and tossed out a Spirit Chicken—half the size of a small mountain and already prepared, originally intended to be refined into spirit food.

Seeing the Spirit Chicken, brimming with Spiritual Energy and plucked clean of its feathers, the Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon blinked and imdiately changed its tone:

“… It seems you’ve put thought into this.”

Snatching the Spirit Chicken’s carcass with a single bite, seemingly afraid that Wang Ba might regret it, it swallowed the offering whole in just a few gulps.

Savoring the lingering Spiritual Energy on its lips and tongue, it extended its crimson tongue to roll up the small bits of bone clinging to its mouth corners, then glanced at Wang Ba below. Hesitating for a mont, it finally spoke:

“A Class IV top-grade Spirit Chicken… You’re quite considerate.”

To call it considerate was an understatent; it was sheer extravagance.

als like this—even in the presence of its master—were a rare treat!

Every spirit beast within the sect had a dedicated purpose. Even soone as esteed as Elder Du Wei couldn’t casually requisition a Class IV top-grade Spirit Beast to rely feed it.

Yet this young man had so indulgently brought one out without hesitation.

“He must have his reasons. Surely, he’s compelled by so dire circumstances…”

The Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon couldn’t help but think.

This made it recall the words it had earlier said to the young man and wonder if its tone had been a little too harsh.

“How thoughtless of . Hmm… but that al… I did eat it too quickly. If I could taste another one…”

“Senior, that might not have been enough, right? I still have more.”

Almost at the sa mont this thought rose in the Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon’s mind, Wang Ba’s voice rang out from afar.

“Huh? This… this wouldn’t be very proper, would it?”

Hearing this, the Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon’s heart began to stir. However, as a divine beast nurtured by Du Wei for many years, its reserved deanor forced hesitation to appear on its face.

But this young man was simply too enthusiastic—too generous. Before it could resist, another prepared Spirit Chicken was shoved right before its eyes.

“Senior, you’ve been confined in the Spirit Beast Bag for so long. Though there were reasons for it, the ultimate fault lies with . There’s absolutely no issue—please enjoy to your heart’s content. And if you’re still not satisfied…”

“Enough, enough!”

The Chi Dragon quickly interjected.

Its draconic head shot forward as it devoured the second Spirit Chicken in one gulp.

Because it couldn’t swallow it all at once, its throat bulged as the food stretched it taut.

It extended its neck several tis before finally managing to gulp the Spirit Chicken down completely.

Only then did it realize how ungraceful it must have looked, devouring its al so ravenously. Feeling slightly embarrassed, it shot a furtive glance at Wang Ba.

Yet to its surprise, Wang Ba wasn’t even looking at it. His eyes were instead fixed on a pool of water below.

“Boy, what are you thinking?”

“Hmm?”

Wang Ba jolted out of his thoughts and imdiately turned his head, a faint smile quickly replacing the serious look on his face:

“Oh, it’s nothing… Senior, have you finished your al? Would you like so more?”

What sharp vision the Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon possessed. Despite the brief fluctuation in Wang Ba’s expression, it hadn’t missed the fleeting trace of worry in his eyes.

Its tone imdiately darkened as it said:

“Have you encountered so sort of trouble, boy?”

Wang Ba’s face stiffened montarily but then returned to normal. With a smile, he replied:

“What trouble could I possibly have? Senior, you must be joking. I still have more Spirit Chicken—would Senior like so more?”

At the ntion of Spirit Chicken, the Ghost-eyed Chi Dragon felt a pang of restlessness. However, with two already sitting heavily in its stomach, it wasn’t as ravenous as before. Holding back its desires, it shook its head slightly. Gazing down at Wang Ba, its eyes carried a sage-like wisdom as if it had already seen through his thoughts:

“And you still think you can conceal it from ?”

“Speak. What’s going on? If you don’t say it, I—I…”

It pondered for a mont before finally finding a suitable threat:

“I won’t eat another one of your Spirit Chickens ever again!”

“This…”

As it had predicted, Wang Ba’s expression stiffened. After a mont of hesitation, he finally revealed a look of resignation:

“Senior truly has the insight of a divine being. I can’t hide anything from you.”

The Chi Dragon’s eyes glead with smug satisfaction. Nonetheless, it mimicked its master Du Wei’s usual composed deanor, lightly coughing while deepening its voice:

“If you can’t hide it, then spill it.”

Wang Ba, as if not daring to disobey, quickly explained:

“The pool below houses Dragon Clan Spirit Beasts I’ve been raising to serve as Dao soldiers. However, due to the refinent process for these Dao soldiers, they have been unable to break through. Recently, I inadvertently ca into possession of a True Spirit Will from an Innate Divine Demon. Injecting it into these Dao soldiers resulted in them being counteracted and corrupted by that will. To suppress it, I’ll need to introduce a new force of power.”

Hearing this, the Chi Dragon felt sowhat disoriented—it didn’t fully grasp concepts like Dao soldiers, Innate Divine Demons, or True Spirit Will. However, it latched onto one critical detail:

“A new force of power?”

“What kind of force?”

Wang Ba hesitated before finally speaking again in resignation:

“After considering carefully, I’ve concluded that this new power should ideally strengthen the Mysterious Dragon Soldiers’ very foundation. Since they are of Dragon lineage, introducing the blood and essence of a higher-class Dragon Clan Spirit Beast might do the trick. But… where am I going to find that kind of Dragon Clan Spirit Beast now?”
