Chapter 1613: Chapter 112: The Lost Civilization
“Although the Three Continents are all located in the west, their positions are not uniform.”
“Our Xituo Continent is situated in the northwest corner, Daosheng Continent leans toward the southwest, and Tupi Continent lies in between, closer to the east.”
“If one wishes to travel to Xituo Continent, they must pass through Tupi Continent.”
High above the clouds, the bare-chested monk Zhao Jie pointed toward the vast ocean’s horizon and explained to Wang Ba.
Wang Ba nodded slightly.
The positions of the Three Continents were also ntioned in a small number of ancient records within the Sect.
However, the information recorded was scant.
Compared to Fenglin Continent and Huangji Continent, which were nearer, Xituo, Daosheng, and Tupi—the Three Continents—were far too remote, with many treacherous paths along the way, so few dared to venture there.
Only Daosheng Continent, accustod to seafaring and trading with various continents, had gained greater renown among the Three Continents.
But with the Great Flood and celestial upheavals, the cultivators of these Three Continents, already as rootless as drifting duckweed, mostly vanished overnight, leaving only historical remnants.
Now, all Wang Ba knew was that the remnants of a Spiritual Lineage from the Great Wheel Temple remained at the snowy mountains in Xituo Continent.
Zhao Jie carefully examined the seawater below, then exclaid in surprise:
“The water level has dropped significantly here as well!”
Wang Ba swept his Spiritual Sense across but found nothing unusual.
He mainly had no reference for the original water level here, so naturally, there was no basis for comparison.
Zhao Jie’s words, however, made sothing occur to him:
“If that’s the case, have all Three Continents erged from the water?”
Zhao Jie nodded:
“So long as the geographical position beneath hasn’t been destroyed, as the water recedes, the Three Continents should still exist.”
Upon saying this, he could no longer contain his excitent.
After years away from his holand, now at last he saw hope of returning to his native soil—years of cultivation could not suppress the surge in his heart.
He glanced quickly at Wang Ba.
Perceiving the other’s excitent and urgency, Wang Ba gave a slight nod.
Subsequently, they increased their pace.
Zhao Jie hurriedly followed with joy.
Another long flight ensued.
Many encounters with Demonic Beasts and mariti calamities occurred along the way but shall remain unntioned.
Eventually, after passing through a stretch of sea obstructions,
the two finally glimpsed the winding coastline at the horizon’s end.
“That’s Tupi Continent!”
With a single glance, Zhao Jie recognized it and couldn’t help showing a face full of delight.
Wang Ba, however, furrowed his brows slightly.
After sensing the surroundings, he muttered in a low voice:
“Here… why is there no Spiritual Energy at all?”
“Hm?”
Zhao Jie froze upon hearing this, then carefully examined the area himself. His expression changed slightly:
“It’s true.”
He couldn’t help murmuring in confusion:
“Strange, the Spiritual Energy around Tupi Continent used to be abundant…”
“Abundant in the past?”
Wang Ba frowned, glancing back at the sea obstructions behind them.
In fact, he had noticed earlier that the farther west they traveled, the thinner the Spiritual Energy on the ocean grew. At the ti, he assud it was due to uneven distributions of oceanic Spiritual Lineages.
Now, it seed that this might not be the case.
Apart from the depletion of Spiritual Energy, there appeared to be other subtle changes occurring.
Yet he couldn’t discern the issues within a short ti.
“Be cautious. Don’t be careless.”
After pondering for a mont without figuring things out, Wang Ba could only offer a quiet reminder.
Zhao Jie’s expression also turned grave.
Spiritual Energy is absolutely vital for cultivators. Without it, Class V cultivators like himself might still rely on their Dao Domain to isolate themselves from the external environnt, preventing environntal depletion of their Spiritual Energy, but middle or low-tier cultivators wouldn’t last long before their Spiritual Energy was entirely consud, causing their realms to fall.
Even Class IV cultivators could only buy themselves more ti, barely clinging to survival.
Yet he clearly rembered that, in the past, Tupi Continent had the most abundant Spiritual Energy of the Three Continents.
“Could this be due to the Great Flood?”
Zhao Jie felt puzzled, but he raised his guard nonetheless.
Both descended from the clouds, flying close to the sea surface toward Tupi Continent.
Surprisingly, neither of them encountered anything unusual until they landed on Tupi Continent’s coastline.
What t their eyes was an endless stretch of lush ancient forest.
Spiritual Sense brushed over the area; unknown beasts road the forest.
A deeper inspection revealed layers of decaying foliage beneath, scattered with shells, fish bones, and other traces of seawater imrsion.
It was evident this area had indeed been subrged at so point, only to reerge above the water later.
And this swathe of forest had clearly grown after the land resurfaced.
Wang Ba casually cut down the oldest tree in the vicinity and studied the tree rings, quickly calculating:
“Four hundred years… This ans that not long after the celestial upheaval, the seawater here began receding.”
He glanced at this forest, which now seed steeped in ti.
For high-class cultivators, four hundred years might pass in the blink of an eye.
But for Tupi Continent, subrged and reerged, it represented profound transformation.
For mortals, assuming childbirth at twenty years of age, twenty generations could have passed in that ti.
At that mont, Zhao Jie suddenly uttered a surprised sound.
“What is it?”
Wang Ba looked at him with slight curiosity.
Zhao Jie didn’t elaborate but raised his hand to summon.
Imdiately, a figure was pulled through the forest, crashing through one tree after another, flying toward them.
“This is…”
Wang Ba looked on with interest.
The figure turned out to be a bizarre monster, bearing the head of a snake, the body of a deer, covered in scales, with four clawed hooves—it was as if creatures from different species had been pieced together.
Even now, restrained by Zhao Jie’s remote grasp, it struggled furiously, opening its bloodied maw toward them, its sickening stench wafting forth.
