At Zhang’s Ruins.
On a crowded and gloomy cliff, many holes were spread out.
Within each of these hole-caves, the aura of cultivators emanated. At the entrances, shadowy figures of cultivators filled with vigilance and alertness were faintly visible.
The aura of these cultivators varied in strength.
The lower the realm, the closer the position on the cliff was to the bottom.
At the very top of the cliff, three caves were aligned side by side. At this mont, a figure flew out of each cave, with expressions of caution, vigilance, solemnity, worry, and ingratiation...
In the void outside the cliff, several figures dressed similarly shouted loudly, announcing the recent dramatic changes within the ruins.
Among the three figures flying from the topmost cave, a Rogue Cultivator in the early stage of the Unification Realm cautiously flew over, cupping his hands in greeting to each of the others, then forcing a smile and saying:
"Distinguished disciples of Golden Water Pond, I have been in seclusion recently and know little about the changes within the ruins. I wasn’t aware that White Channel Yin Family has been subdued by the Po Master and even Zhang’s Ruins have been unified by the Po Master; truly, it is a cause for celebration."
Upon hearing this, the few cultivators frowned, with the lead one coldly snorting:
"What nonsense are you talking! White Channel Yin Family... is considered to be along the sa path as us, there’s no such thing as subduing or not subduing. The Po Master has never done such a thing, you better not talk nonsense!"
The cultivator trembled upon hearing this and quickly apologized.
Then, cautiously asked:
"If it’s not the unification of Zhang’s Ruins, then this Ruins Master is..."
"Things that you shouldn’t inquire about, don’t inquire arbitrarily!"
The lead cultivator reprimanded but hesitated a bit when seeing this person’s decent realm and cultivation base, then explained in a low voice:
"The Ruins Master was the True Man who shone brightly in battle in the Cloud Sky Realm several hundred years ago..."
Even the Po Master was courteous and dared not act rashly in front of that True Man. Feeling his own status low, naturally, he dared not casually ntion that person’s na.
Yet, that Rogue Cultivator was baffled:
"The battle of the Cloud Sky Realm? That True Man? Who?"
Seeing this Rogue Cultivator looking confused, the Golden Water Pond cultivator slightly frowned and then chose not to speak further.
Compared to the top ten forces that guard the eleven holes of Zhang’s Ruins, these Rogue Cultivators were clearly much more out of the loop, possibly not even aware of the supre True Buddha battling in the Cloud Sky Realm several hundred years ago, let alone the prowess of that True Man.
Saying more was pointless, and not wanting to bother, he sharply said:
"You need not ddle; just know that from today onwards, Zhang’s Ruins have unified under the esteed na ’Taiyi’ of the Ruins Master. Out of compassion for you sordid folks, he plans to personally preach to you... Don’t lose decorum at Yin Ruins Arena, don’t bring disgrace to us over here at Golden Water Pond!"
"Especially, don’t be outshone by those people from Laowen Sect!"
"If I find out that you are inferior to the people sent by Laowen Sect, hmph..."
With a cold snort, that Rogue Cultivator in the early Unification Realm felt his heart beco heavy, dared not speak further, and responded promptly.
This scene was happening simultaneously in many places within Zhang’s Ruins.
The top ten factions defending the passageways did not just cling to their patch of territory; in actuality, almost every force had various arrangents deep within Zhang’s Ruins.
The resources within the ruins were scarce, but there was no shortage of Rogue Cultivators.
And these Rogue Cultivators, whether used for alchemy, or labor... were excellent resources.
Even White Channel Yin Family couldn’t avoid this, periodically abducting a batch from the ruins specifically for servitude.
In ordinary tis, such interest barriers could not be easily shaken.
But with the looming gigantic threat of the supre True Buddha gradually approaching reality, these barriers have started showing signs of loosening.
Under the insistence of Wang Ba, the once-hidden Rogue Cultivators within the ruins finally have hope of seeing the light from higher places, though the road ahead is long and arduous, there is hope nonetheless.
And with hope, often breathtaking power can burst forth...
Above the apertures on the surface of Zhang’s Ruins, figures of cultivators swiftly shuttled back and forth, silently constructing formation nodes.
The top ten forces, along with many smaller forces within the ruins, where Tribulation-Transcending Realm cultivators were present, were now busily constructing these defenses against the future invasion of the supre True Buddha.
Various formations, traps, lethal moves, curses... all ans were employed.
The power might not be exceedingly strong, but it is certainly vexing.
The Rogue Cultivators, although far weaker than the Great Realm Sects, possess a survival instinct and resilience like weeds, and under boundless wisdom, they often release surprising sparks...
Everything is being advanced intensively.
And deep within the core of the ruins, unnoticed by anyone.
Amidst the vast ’ocean’, an awareness slowly awoke from slumber, silently observing the bustle and changes within and outside of the ruins, then shifted its thought, landing on a green-robed figure within a certain immortal cave in the ruins, slightly frowning:
"Why is this one here again..."
"Couldn’t be eyeing my dilapidated temple?"
"Should I go and say sothing?"
Slightly tempted, but then seed to rember sothing, hesitated:
"This one is no pushover, once upon a ti these two nearly... well, let’s see how things play out first!"
