If they sent people to search, accidents would definitely occur, as Eden was too dangerous.
The elite mbers were the pillars of the Gillette Household. If sothing happened to them, the entire House would enter a precarious situation.
His own status will then be threatened. No matter what, he couldn’t make this move.
Maxwell picked at his ears and couldn’t be bothered with their discussion. He walked up and asked: "May I ask if the Acting Lord can declare the results of the hunting contest?"
He was still waiting to turn in his quest.
If Sebastian didn’t recognise the results, then it would an the quest wasn’t completed. It’s basically like him not handing in the quest and not getting the rewards for it.
Sebastian’s eyes beca cold. He looked at the pile of above bronze rank spawned beast heads, the below silver rank spawned beast heads, and finally at the Raging Fire Bull. His heart suddenly tightened, and he said to himself, "Could Gregory’s death be caused by Maxwell?"
Thinking to this point, Sebastian’s eyes beca even colder. His eyes swept past the crowd and a portion of the Gillette Household mbers that participated in the entrance competition unconsciously lowered their heads. This further strengthened his suspicions.
Sebastian then coldly laughed out loud once and then said: "Maxwell, the fact that your cultivation was crippled is sothing everyone knows about. How could soone who is crippled kill so many spawned beasts? Especially when they’re above bronze rank spawned beasts, below silver rank, and even above silver rank spawned beasts. Even soone at the silver rank would have a hard ti dealing with an above bronze rank spawned beast, so how did you hunt them down?"
Maxwell’s eyes darkened, "Just go ahead and say what you’re implying."
"Good! I suspect that you’re cheating!" Sebastian yelled outright.
A flash of hope appeared in Duke Collin’s eyes as he yelled out: "What the Lord said is correct! Maxwell’s achievents are truly suspicious!"
The still throwing up McCollin with a pale face imdiately lifted up his head and pointed at Maxwell in excitent before saying loudly: "That piece of trash is definitely cheating!"
His sleeves moved from his sudden pointing and a piece of gooey shit was flicked directly into his open mouth. McCollin then started throwing up like crazy again.
Maxwell cursed before showing a questioning smile: "I suspect that you cannot take out the reward so that’s why you’re trying to shift suspicion onto my results. Acting Lord, could it be that you can’t take out the upgrade elent because you had already given it to your son?"
As Maxwell’s voice was heard, several Elder mbers all looked towards Sebastian.
Sebastian’s face darkened but he pretended to remain calm. "Nonsense! Why would I, the Lord do such a thing? Maxwell, it looks like you’re afraid of my inquiry. Again, how did you, a piece of trash manage such achievents?"
Without waiting for Maxwell’s response, Sebastian imdiately continued: "Elders, what do you think of freezing Maxwell’s results for now until we’ve thoroughly investigated this?"
"Sounds good!"
"Maxwell’s achievents are very suspicious so to be fair, I agree with Sebastian’s suggestion."
"You damn old fools, I’ve seen you all." Maxwell’s anger was rising as he saw through these so-called Elders. With these old bastards in charge, it’s no wonder the Gillette Household continues to be stagnant.
In his heart, Maxwell started cursing out everyone in Sebastian’s family. He also couldn’t help becoming anxious, since if he couldn’t get Sebastian’s acknowledgent, the first place for the entrance competition would not be declared. As for that reward, there’s no way Sebastian can take it out because Maxwell had it already. He didn’t really care about that upgrade elent and only wanted to take care of the Bronze Rank quest.
The quest was given by Sebastian so if he doesn’t acknowledge its completion, Maxwell wouldn’t get the rewards.
This was a Type 3 supportive martial for the quest completion.
Martial Techniques were too strong. Maxwell had experienced the benefits it brought when dealing with those on the sa level. A good martial technique was basically one’s capital.
Moreover, what’s a supportive martial technique?
Crafting pills, crafting weapons, and inscriptions were all considered supportive martial techniques. Each one of them was an aweso existence on its own, especially when it ca to pill crafting.
Right now, Maxwell can only replenish his mana by killing monsters. If he couldn’t kill monsters, he could only replenish his energy through pills. That’s why pills were very important especially to him.
Back when the bronze rank reward was shown, Maxwell was incredibly excited.
He suppressed his anger and asked: "I would like to ask when the Elders can finish their so-called investigation?"
Duke Fargo responded with a wise ass look on his face: "It could be a day or maybe a month. But we can’t rule out a year or maybe even ten years. These things are hard to accurately judge."
Duke Mario added: "Maxwell, we will try to investigate this matter as quickly as we can, but even if we don’t have a tifra."
Investigate? What are they going to investigate? This was clearly them ssing with Maxwell.
Maxwell could clearly see everything – through many hardships, he had tirelessly killed for 3 days and this was the conclusion? The flas of anger rushed all the way into his head.
There was a slight smile on Sebastian’s lips before he seriously said: "Maxwell, there is a quick way to prove yourself."
Seeing Sebastian’s lips, Maxwell already knew it wasn’t anything good but he still went ahead and asked: "What way?"
"It’s a straightforward solution. You only have to prove to everyone that you can kill an above silver rank spawned beast." Sebastian replied.
"Go kill an above silver rank spawned beast?"
"That’s a good solution; it can automatically prove his strength! And being able to kill an above silver rank spawned beast will show he is worthy of such achievents."
"I am in favour of this proposal."
Even a pro at the silver rank would die in front of a beast above silver rank. Now they want him to kill one in front of them? Hasn’t their bullying gone too far?
Sebastian then said, "Of course, an above silver rank spawned beast is a peerless existence, so I’ll allow you to bring another person with you. As long as that person agrees, any one of the Household will do."
"I agree!"
Constantine and Gwendolyn both spoke out at the sa ti.
Maxwell glanced at them filled with gratefulness, but he didn’t want their help.
An above silver rank spawned beast was way too strong. Even if he brought a pro at the silver rank with him, there’s no way they could kill one by normal ans. It was clear that Sebastian was deliberately sending him to his death.
Not all above silver rank spawned beasts were as slow as the Raging Fire Bull. Once he encounters one that’s a bit faster, there would be nothing he could do to fight back.
He wouldn’t even have ti to use the puppet master because he’d already be dead.
This ploy by Sebastian was too vicious!
If he doesn’t accept this, there’s no way he can get the quest rewards.
If he accepts it, it’s practically sending him to his own death!
Maxwell didn’t even bother considering it and smiled, "Acting Lord, you are truly too vicious. A re first place is sothing I don’t place in your eyes."
"I already knew you committed fraud. According to Household rules, those who cheat in the entrance competition will have their legs broken and kicked out of the Gillette Household!" Sebastian said with a frown and in a serious tone.
He already figured out Maxwell wouldn’t agree to it!
"Soone co and capture him!" Sebastian waved his hand and several elite mbers rushed towards Maxwell.
Sebastian had a look of success on his face and mumbled to himself: "Maxwell, you could prove to us that you can kill an above silver rank spawned beast or break your own legs!"
Vicious to the extre! Maxwell frowned, his anger flaring as he felt he was dancing on Sebastian’s palm. His eyes darkened and he coldly looked at Sebastian: "Sebastian, you are truly too vicious."
"Vicious? I am rely performing my duties." Sebastian then coldly laughed before saying: ’I will give you 3 seconds to make a choice: What would it be?"
No matter which choice it was, death would be the eventual outco!
Constantine imdiately stood out and loudly yelled: "We choose to kill the above silver rank spawned beast and I will be accompanying Sir Maxwell!"
"Good! Maxwell, you’re not as straightforward as your servant." Sebastian smiled as his ploy worked, "Half a month later at the Eden City battle arena, there will be an above silver rank spawned beast present. At that ti, you only need to kill that beast, and the truth will reveal itself, and the first place for the hunting contest would naturally be yours."
"Constantine!" Maxwell looked at him.
While he foolishly grinned, "Boss, we’ll take our chances."
He made that choice for Maxwell because he knew Maxwell would never put his or Gwendolyn’s life on the line.
Sebastian had already revealed his true intentions so if Constantine didn’t make that choice, Sebastian would definitely do sothing to Maxwell.
Maxwell may look like an idiot in general but he was actually quite intelligent.
Since it was already agreed to, Maxwell had a slight smile on his face before saying: "Sebastian, you truly made a good move. We will show you our strength later so don’t be too shocked by it."
"Hahaha... Don’t worry, unless you an shocked at how you would be ripped to shreds by the beast?" Sebastian said in disdain.
It’s good that Maxwell agreed to fight the above silver rank spawned beast because it allowed Sebastian 15 days of ti to investigate everything. Most importantly, it would allow him to find out where the beast core was!
"Let’s go!" Maxwell was about to turn around to leave when sothing flashed in his eyes as he said respectfully: "Lord Sebastian would it count as being in first place with the total score of 1200 points in the entrance competition?"
"Achievents attained by fraud..." Sebastian smiled.
Without allowing him to finish, Maxwell interrupted: "Ignoring that point, I’m asking if it technically counts."
Sebastian smiled at Maxwell, "It counts, but so what? You cheated... Hahaha..."
Suddenly, Maxwell laughed out loud into the air and excitedly said: "What I wanted was your word that it ’counted’. You wanted to sche against but allowed to counter you."
Sebastian was slightly stunned as he didn’t know what Maxwell was laughing about.
It was around this ti that the sweet, familiar notification tone sounded off in Maxwell’s mind.
"Crackle!"
