Lord Of Puppets Chapter 104 – Adventurers join the fun

(Hm.... Good.... Good.... Everything seems to be still working fine.) – thought Thauma as he unleashed his golem puppets to the outside world and was using them to watch outside world, while also using a map of the territory.

(Hm.... This is problematic.... I’ve thought that the golems would have big enough reach for to see everything outside the forest.... But by the looks of things, I will still have to work the range a bit... Then again. I can just use one of the trees.) – thought Thauma as it then commanded the scout golems to climb on top of the trees, allowing the Thauma to gain more sight on the territory.

(Thanks to the [Golem Control] skill, the range which I can affect my golems from afar had expanded, aning that they don’t need to be close to for in order to be affected.)

(Not only that, the scout golem body is special tool.)

(This golem not only has a ability to link up with a helt, allowing to share a vision with it, but it also a part of another experint I’ve had been making.)

(A long range remote control golem.)

(Honestly, it was just a theory.)

(When I was learning and improving my crafting, Ariva told sothing, about items and what kind of effects I can grant them if I’m proficient enough in crafting.)

(She told that I will need that kind of skill in order to develop my research.)

(For example: There are weapons or items out there that can apply specific characteristic or skill.)

(For example, a mage staff that is revolves around fire magic will boost the user fire magic, while magic pendant can enchant a range of mana detection type abilities.)

(So, with that in mind, I’ve tried making special adjust to the golems and the theory had been proven correct.)

(I can increase my control for specific golems, if I make a necessary adjustnt.)

(I need this kind of adjustnt to my other golems as well.... Hm.... Or maybe I could make sothing that could just expand my own research, without having to add special modification?)

(Based on the information where my golems had fought the enemy, I should look in this direction...!) – Thauma with the help of its golems managed to finally gain vision from above the sea of trees, finally allowing Thauma to sowhat see the grass plains that were covered in snow.

(Nothing?) – thought Thauma as it realized that it could not spot anything in the direction where the camp of the kingdom soldiers was once located.

(Did they completely abandoned the area? Did they completely backed away?)

(What about the outpost?) – thought Thauma as it commanded the golems to traverse the forest, before once again climbing on top of the trees in order to spot the location where the ruined outpost is located.

(The outpost was there according to the prisoners.... Right?)

(But is there anything? I an, do see so things, but from what I’ve know, there was small tower and such.... But I don’t see anything?)

(Was the outpost not rebuild?)

(From what I’ve gathered, this was essentially their base of operation when it ca down to "managing" the dungeon and the forest.)

(Return.) – Thauma commanded its puppets to return back to the dungeon.

(I need to increase vision or range of the golems.... But still, I confird one thing.)

(Even if I can’t see too far away, I still should had been able to notice a large group of soldier moving around.)

(That ans that the enemy is nowhere near OR they are near , but they are outside of my field of vision.)

(This is not a false alarm. I’ve already confird it. I’ve checked with prisoners and I used all the data I’ve had on hand to confirm that this is not a false alarm, but truly a war.)

(So, what is going on? Why did the enemy backed off?)

(Those could be the reasons.... But it was already soti, so I should at least see a scout or sothing like this entering the forest.... And yet nothing?)

Even after finally gaining a real ability to see the outside world, Thauma ended up straight up learning nothing.

The army that was near the forest was nowhere in sight, while the outpost was still left "dead".

Normally this kind of news would bring joy to Thauma, since peace and quiet would allow Thauma to continue its research in peace.... But the problem was that it knew.

The soldiers that ca here were not so "false alarms" unlike many cases before.

This ti there was truly war going on and it had already started.

This worried Thauma as it realized that the kingdom must be planning sothing.... And planning sothing they were.

The news of the new quest posted by the Garmfon kingdom had reached the neighboring kingdoms adventurer guilds.

And so people had already shown interested in this quest, making them hunger for the rewards as they headed to the Garmfon kingdom.

The weeks went by and people both arrive and gathered in the Garmfon kingdom, at the Maw city which ended up becoming the temporarily base of the adventurer guild.

"Ugh. What is this dumb?" – asked a human adventurer.

"This city looks like it was.... Ravaged? Did these golems monsters did it?"

"Nah. I think it was one of the places that was hit by the war." – replied the female elf adventurer.

"Oh right.... Kind of forgotten about that." – replied human warrior.

"How the hell did you forgotten about a goddamned war? It happened just recently." – replied female elf with a confused expression.

"Anyway, a lot more bastards than I’ve thought had showed up."
