The golems which normally stayed on the defense.
The golems that only hid inside of their forest, protecting the dungeon, their birthplace.
The only ti they "attacked" was to "counterattack" against the invaders.
That was the story so far…. But now?
Sothing that didn't happened before has occurred.
The army of golems just completely left their ho.
But they didn't wondered aimlessly…. No…. They had a target.
Villages.
The villages that didn't even knew about the attacks even coming their direction.
This was beyond sudden.
Not only that, the whole attack first stared off as the Crow Watcher's soldier was informing the lord about the situation.
THEY just started organizing the temporarily watch unit to observe the forest, and the unit in question has yet to be sent.
aning, that the information regarding the whole incident hasn't reached the city yet…. aning that nobody was aware that the golems started moving.
And…. There was another problem.
It wasn't related to the golems per say… But more about location.
Specifically, the fact that the golem forest was located nowhere near the city.
On the foot, you need to spent 2-3 days on foot to arrive at the forest. And that is if there are no annoying weather conditions, which could possibly extend the travel ti to even 4 days or maybe even 5, if the conditions are extrely bad, like a storm for example.
In other words, even if sobody were to spot the golems from the safe, distance, it would still take ti to reach the city, even with a horse.
Reaching the ears of the lord.
Gathering information.
Taking necessary asures.
Sending the adventurers and soldiers to track down and deal with monsters.
All of this takes TI.
You can't just do it right on the spot.
Obviously, the golems need to traverse long distances themselves, in order to not only reach their destination, but also loot the entire location and have the obtained sacrifices traverse back all the way to the dungeon.
It takes ti for the golems to do anything as well…. However, Thauma still had advantage in this whole scenario.
IT is the one attacking without anybody being alerted.
Or more exactly, the town WOULD HAD KNOWN ABOUT THE DANGER-
Only if the Crow Watchers told the truth.
The person who controls the Crow Watchers knew that if the news about the Crow Watchers a "genocide defeat" were to spread, it could cause a lot of problems.
However now? This so-called decision to make sure that the "chaos wouldn't erupt" is now costing lives of many people.
People were getting slaughtered.
All because that person wanted to avoid other form of chaos.
And truth to be told, they wouldn't expect it.
I an, after the war, the golem army took so heavy damage and they lack any form of healing ability, expect for few golems.
So, would it really take the risk?
…It would.
Or more exactly, it had a cover for the damaged and destroyed golems.
Even though the dungeon can't instantly manifest monsters that can leave the dungeon, that doesn't an Thauma can't make golems on its own.
Thauma DID made several golems all on its own.
These golems' original purpose was to defend the dungeon, an ambush force of sorts…. However, Thauma decided to sent these golems alongside the other golems in order to build up their numbers.
And it wasn't just regular golems that the Thauma made… No. It made 2 cavalry boss monsters, alongside several prototypes' basic cavalry type golems.
In the nutshell, the golems had enough forces to go and comnce their raids.
Sothing that the person who controlled the Crow Watchers didn't expected.
Not only that, there was another problem.
Thauma had the map.
What does that an?
It ans it knows WHAT golems to use for each specific area.
The locations that were the closest were raided by the regular golems.
While the places that were the furthest away were raided were attacked by the golems with high mobility, which could quickly traverse long distances.
To make it worse, there was no longer just single boss cavalry golem on the loose, but 3.
Alongside them, there was also several prototype regular type cavalry golems. They may be far inferior compare to the boss monster; however, they can be used to drag the carts that would contain corpses of countless victims.
…
It was pure evil.
Thauma may not be able to see what exactly is going on…. But it could tell what it was doing. What its golems were doing.
That it was "evil"…. But then again, it no longer cared about their "view".
Thama wanted peace, that is truth.
But above everything else, it wanted to live freely…. However, now that the peace was no longer an option, Thauma realized that the only way to survive would be to embrace the thing that these invaders "hated" about Thauma.
That it was nothing more than monster.
The only restrain that was keeping Thauma from embracing the "monster" side was the possibility of "peace"…. However, the Crow Watcher snapped it.
The only thing keeping Thauma in check was now gone.
The golem was filled with "fear".
And now, this fear was pushing the golem to "survive" no matter the cost.
They were the ones that unleashed this monster.
And now, the people of the von territory are going to pay the price.
Villages destroyed and plundered.
The lives taken away.
Hunted down.
Murdered.
Robbed.
Destroyed.
The golems did not showed any shred of rcy as they fallowed their creator command.
[FEED THE DUNGEON]
It was a pure nightmare.
Golems marching to the settlents, raising their blades and cutting down anybody who tried fighting back.
Those who tried running away were shot without rcy…. And those who escaped were ripped apart by hound golems.
Nobody was left alive.
Be it children or elderly…. Nobody was spared.
Their rotting corpses were loaded into the carts and then sent back to the dungeon.
Not only people, but animals were also targeted.
AND as the golem tried aiming to reach their target, they also hunted down anybody they had encountered.
Be it a random wanderer or a rchant, anything that was spotted by the golems was just hunted down.
No matter what or who they were… They were just sacrifices.
So people tried warning the villages about the danger…. But they were hunted down.
Either shot down or mauled by the hound golems.
Nobody was warn.
Nobody was saved.
Only death was left behind.
….. However, there was an obvious problem.
With how much chaos and destruction the golems were causing, there was no way that they could stay hidden.
Even if they didn't let any villages or passing by rchants escape, there was still a good chance that sobody was observing them from afar, a safe distance which was just enough to stay out of the golems' radar.
And so, the existence of the golems was exposed.
Now it was just matter of ti before the lord and the adventurer guild would learn about the whole monster invasion, which was currently plaguing the territory.
[Current location: Maw City – Lord's manor.]
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU AN THE ENTIRE VILLAGE WAS DESTROYED BY MONSTERS?!" – shouted the lord as he slamd his table.
"It is…. Just as the reports says…" – said stressed out guard.
"The adventurers have spotted a group of golems going on the rampage…. And they had slaughtered entire village…. And it wasn't just one." – said the guard as he took out the map.
"A group of adventurers have spotted yet another group golems…. But from the complete opposite direction." – said the soldier as he pointed at the two spots on the map.
"Sir… This is beyond dangerous."
"If I believe-"
"The golems are attacking everything near them." – said the lord before the guard could even say his sentence.
(This isn't good! THIS ISN'T GOOD!) – thought the lord.
(BUT SOTHING AIN'T ADDING UP!)
(THE CROW WATCHER REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THEY DEALD MASSIVE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE GOLEMS!)
(So how are they moving around?!)
(THEY SHOULDN'T! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!)
"What about the adventurers who were on standby!? Were they inford about the incident!?" – asked the terrified lord.
"Y-yes! They by now should start up their predations!" – replied the guard.
"Lead to them! NOW!" – shouted the lord as he stood up.
"Yes sir!" – replied the guard as he started escorting the lord through the manor.
(SHIT! FUCK! SHIT FUCK!) – thought panicking lord as he was walking through his manor.
(What the hell is going on?!)
(I an, FUCK!)
(THEY FUCKING SAID THAT THE DAMAGE WAS DEALT TO THEM!)
(NOT ONLY THAT, THESE CREATURES NEVER LEFT THE FOREST, SINCE THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THEM APPERENTLY!)
(SO WHAT IS GOING ON!?)
(WHY ARE THEY ATTACKING?!)
(SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!)
(Everything was supposed to start going normal now!)
(The culprits behind wyvern attack were to be about to caught and the specialist would co and deal with the dungeon!)
(Everything should start being resolved!)
(SO WHY NOW OF ALL THE TIS THINGS ARE GETTING CHAOTIC AGAIN?!)
"…"
*Sigh*
(Yeb….)
(This place is truly freaking curse… Mom I don't want to be lord anymore.)
