Gaia looked at him with regret, tears streaming from his eyes. He knew now that Margoth was the one who had killed his father, and he wanted to sever his neck, but his body refused to move. He lay on his back and looked up at the sky with a weary charm. "Sotis, scoundrels see what I do not... I lost the day I made an enemy of my own people... You accursed ones will have to fight for the rest of your lives, and you will never rest, for you are fighting against a spirit overflowing with hope and beauty, no matter how much darkness and lethargy surround it... It will soon return to shine once more, overwhelming your darkness and ending it... As for , my role is over. May the Great God forgive for my sins, and may the venerable Oracle forgive for failing the trust she placed in us to restore balance to the universe."
Gaia's soul departed to its creator. The blue sun cast its rays on his unmoving eyes, and his silver hair shone, heralding the end of the last attempt to save the Lunix empire, which had fractured, scattered, and been seized by the forces of the Zurix. Thus began an era of oppression, murder, mutilation, plunder, theft, and rape throughout the universe. Darkness fell upon an empire that had illuminated the cosmos for thousands of years.
Margoth buried Gaia as a sign of respect and read so sacred texts from his book over him. Then, they headed to the battlefield to end the fight.
anwhile, Leonis went to get the ship ready for their escape, and Akira went to find Noor and his companions. After a period of searching and trying to avoid enemy fire, he managed to find him just as he was erging from his wrecked robot. Akira moved through the air with the ability Gladious had taken from him after he lost the Death Race and which Gaia had restored.
Akira appeared before Noor, who was so surprised he froze on the spot, not knowing what to say. "Noor, you have to co with , you and the rest of our comrades," Akira said frantically.
Noor snapped out of his daze and, understanding the situation, pushed him away. "Are you kidding ? Get away from , you traitor!"
Keno landed on the ground beside Noor and looked at Akira. "Noor, listen to what he has to say."
Noor looked at him, overco with a deep sense of despair. "Gaia was wrong in what he did," Akira said hastily, "but he wanted to protect his people, not kill them. We haven't won this war; we've fallen into the wrong hands. That's why you have to co with , and I'll explain everything. But we have to escape before they wipe our mories again and use us in their damned wars."
"Noor," Keno added, "do you rember the video you and I watched about the Lunix and the Zurix? Well, I watched the rest of the videos, and I also know what's happening here. We have to go with him, and I'll show you what I saw. But it's not safe here. The Enix are about to win this war, so let's gather our comrades and escape now."
Noor didn't understand what was happening. His confusion grew, and his emotions churned in the face of all these conspiracies and fabricated stories, no longer knowing which to believe. He decided to trust Keno, whom he rembered as his forr professor at the University of Astronomy in New Cairo.
Keno ran across the battlefield to Ivanov and Sairi, who were resting in the rear after their difficult withdrawal from the clutches of the machines. Keno told them they had to co with him imdiately, that there was another side to this battle they needed to know. They reluctantly agreed to go.
As for Iris, Noor contacted him via radio and told him to co with them. But he replied that he would stay to get the humans out of this predicant. With his ability to camouflage, he could deceive and escape if he felt his life was threatened. For now, he was determined to return the humans to Earth and lead them out of this great ss. He told Noor that if he learned what Akira wanted to tell them, he should inform him on the sa channel to enlighten him with more information about the truth of this strange conflict.
Noor left him and gathered with his comrades. They ran away from the battlefield, weaving through the ruined buildings. After a few minutes of running, a small aircraft piloted by Leonis landed. Keno looked at him with suspicion, rembering how he had tricked him into opening the shield to let Gaia's army in. But Akira pulled him by the hand and told him he would understand everything.
The rectangular aircraft flew into the air. On their way to the headquarters, Akira contacted Youssef and learned that he was near the rendezvous point and that soone was chasing him. They headed toward him, and after a while, they found him. They opened the aircraft door, and he jumped in with Yassin. The aircraft imdiately sped away, getting out of range of Milkon, who had been in pursuit. Keno looked at him and saw that he had abilities similar to his own and was also a cyborg. He realized he was not the only one of his kind in the universe; there were others like him. But he did not know that this was the brother he had been searching for for years.
The aircraft flew over buildings, trees, and lakes, heading toward a mountain. A secret door opened in the mountain, and the aircraft entered, settling on a landing pad. They found themselves inside a facility sowhat similar to the one that had been under the sea, where they had been imprisoned before. They disembarked and headed to a hall that contained a room full of chairs and tables, ending with a large projection screen at the far end.
"What is this place?" Ivanov asked, looking around.
"It was a secret base for attacking humans," Leonis replied, "but it's empty now that the war is over and we have failed."
They looked at him with annoyance at his words. He t their gaze. "Hello! You are the ones who colonized our planet. We have the right to respond to this aggression."
"Can I play the videos I watched here?" Keno asked, looking at the screen.
Leonis nodded in agreent. Keno went to the screen, extended so cables from his fingers, and connected them. He transferred the videos, and the screen lit up, showing the man sitting on his throne in the dark, speaking. He repeated what he had told Keno and Noor before about the civilizations in the universe and how they began to interact, which caused many wars between them due to their inability to accept their differences. Many wars raged across the universe because of this.
Then, he spoke of the Zurix, the ancient race that had organized the universe and tried to put an end to the wars by bringing all planets under a large cosmic empire that set laws and boundaries. It expanded its borders at the expense of its neighbors to create a unified cosmic system to end wars. He then recounted how its great expansion led it to break apart, beco corrupt, and devolve into independent planets based on dictatorship, injustice, and bloodshed. He told of how ignorance and superstition spread throughout this vast empire until it shattered into warring parts, with conflicts that never ceased.
Then, he told them the story of the Lunix, who appeared suddenly and spread throughout the universe, unifying it after overthrowing so of the great empires. They united many planets under their banner, spread knowledge and peace, and lit the way for all beings until they filled the universe with their brilliant light and beca the masters of the cosmos for thousands of years. Although they managed to wrest many planets from the hands of the Zurix, they were never able to reach the Zurix's core. They always t with fierce resistance from them. They made treaties with them and only attacked them at long intervals, but the enmity between them remained for thousands of years; the Lunix would attack once, and the Zurix would retaliate another ti. The Lunix would take a planet from them and fill it with their ideas, only for the Zurix to reclaim it and return it to its forr state of backwardness, ignorance, and barbarism.
The speaker continued his account:
"The conflicts between the Lunix and the Zurix continued until a period of chaos and turmoil weakened the Lunix empire for a ti, allowing the Zurix to reclaim so planets. However, their contact with the Lunix and their advanced civilization greatly influenced them, affecting their way of life, science, and culture. After many long years, they were defeated by the Lunix and returned to their holands, their ideas completely transford.
They began to purge their world of ignorance and superstition. This was aided by their occupation of nearby Lunix planets, which held vast stores of science and knowledge that the Zurix translated and began to study. This wave of change continued despite the resistance of the Zurix kings. Science began to spread among them gradually, albeit slowly. Hundreds of destructive wars were fought among them over this transformation. The change was slow, but it continued to grow until the Zurix empire was revitalized by science, arts, and knowledge. This ca after a state of extre ignorance and barbarism had afflicted them, turning them into a coarse, violent race that loved war and destruction and rejected any ideas other than their own.
The fierce attacks previously launched by the Zurix on other Lunix planets had caused significant damage, forcing the Lunix to turn to war and armant to protect their suddenly threatened world. Other civilizations in the universe were lurking, waiting for a single mont of weakness to descend upon them. Because of their focus on quelling turmoil and expelling enemies—the Zurix and others—from their planets, they ceased to prioritize science and culture. It was not a ti for relaxation, reading books, contemplating the universe, or building industries. Instead, it was a ti for defense and attempting to reorganize the empire.
Over ti, the Lunix succumbed to intellectual stagnation and ignorance. Later generations forgot their ancestors' great passion for science and the discoveries that had changed the course of the universe. At this point, the baton of control gradually passed from the Lunix to the Zurix. Science found a new ho with the Zurix after the Lunix had abandoned it and turned their backs on it."
