Lord of Cosmos Chapter 56: Origins of Super Powers

Jane turned to Noor.

"If we had a car now, it would make it easier for us to get around here. But modern cars now work with voice and eye recognition, and it seems these cars are similar, so we have no hope of getting one. It would also definitely draw attention to us, and that’s what we don’t want."

Noor agreed with her and added,

"We’ll have to walk for now. But it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that we find what we’re looking for."

Noor and Jane began to walk down the road cautiously. The daylight made them feel so comfort and reassurance. Noor yawned, feeling tired and exhausted. Of course, Jane noticed this and made so sarcastic comnts, such as,

"You slept for a ti only God knows, and you still want to sleep again? You’re so lazy."

Noor didn’t answer her but just smiled, knowing she had hit the nail on the head.

They continued on their way down the empty, paved street, staring at the three-dinsional signs hanging around the road. The cool air touched their faces, making them feel lonely amidst the deadly silence of the dead city.

As they walked, they began to talk. Noor said, yawning,

"Do you know what the scientific explanation is for the existence of these superpowers?"

Jane thought for a mont, then said with so hesitation,

"I don’t know for sure, but given the trendous technological progress humans have achieved, reaching these strange abilities is no longer in the realm of fiction. But I believe whoever gave us these abilities possesses a vastly superior knowledge that surpasses other minds, because it would require altering our genetic composition and modifying so of our characteristics, while adding small nanomachines loaded with specific properties. With this, they might be able to produce these abilities for us. Your ability, for example, works by deconstructing and reconstructing molecules and compounds to produce a tangible, physical object. When molecules are very far apart, they produce a gas; if they get closer to a certain extent, they beco a liquid, and then a solid. It seems that sohow they have given you the ability to manipulate atoms and shape them as you wish, without you being aware of it. You imagine the thing until it becos reality, but in fact, you are manipulating the atoms around you to create sothing. To make it clearer for you, let’s imagine you have Lego blocks, and these blocks are built in the shape of a house. Your role is to demolish this house and use these blocks to build a tower instead of a house. But I wonder how they ca up with sothing like this? And I wonder how they implanted it inside you and made it so simple to use! Do you know what you could do if you mastered this ability? You wouldn’t just create; you could also destroy and change the environnt around you and everything else. It is a terrifying ability if it falls into the wrong hands.
