Suddenly, a small, hidden chamber in the platform opened, and a silver suit rose out of it. On its chest, a round blue crystal protruded, radiating a vibrant energy. The emblem of Atlantis was placed to the left of the crystal—a planet held by two hands from above and below. On the right and left sides, two golden lines ran from the top of the suit to the soles of the feet. There were protrusions, bumps, and additions that gave the suit an attractive appearance.
Everyone began to clap and cheer, overco with excessive enthusiasm from the magnificent sight of the suit. Akira was the most enthusiastic among them; he felt that his life was now secure and that he would not be throwing himself into destruction as he had thought. He said to himself, "If this invention proves its effectiveness, we will win against those despicable tin cans."
The old general signaled for everyone to be silent and picked up the loudspeaker. "As you can see, the suit is wonderful not only in its external appearance but also in its ability to destroy. I call it the Super-Suit Project... not just because it is strong, but because you will also beco strong to withstand its power."
Question marks began to appear on the faces of the volunteers, which made the general continue, explaining, "You will understand everything in a little while. Go to your rooms now, and you will be inford of everything. You will find the room numbers on your entry papers. Now, dismiss."
Everyone took out their papers and looked at their room number, then they began to whisper among themselves as they headed toward their rooms in the building located behind the platform. Yousef looked at Akira with excitent. "It seems there will be so excitent on this trip. I was very scared of what we were going to face given the country’s miserable conditions, but it seems they have done their duty to the fullest, and our chances of returning safely will be great. It’s my good fortune that I still have my ability, but it’s useless for anything other than healing and a speed that consus my energy quickly. If I want to benefit from it, I have to find soone superhuman like to steal their power, and that’s why my ability is useless now."
"Yes, it seems that relief is near. With this suit, our strength will be equivalent to the machines, and we may even beco much stronger, and you won’t need your power."
"Let’s wait and see. We haven’t seen its power yet, nor the extent of its effect on those bastards."
"That’s true. Now, let’s go to our rooms and wait for instructions."
They entered the twenty-story building and went up to the third floor. Akira checked the paper again and saw that his room was number thirteen and Yousef was in the room next to him. They said goodbye to each other and went into their rooms.
As soon as Akira entered, he was surprised by the room’s design. It looked like a testing room, not a bedroom. He saw a white bed that resembled a hospital bed, so machines hanging around the room with wires coming out of them, and he also saw syringes, serums, and dicines placed on a table next to the bed. He felt he had entered the wrong room. He was about to leave and check the room number, but he found a young man wearing a lab coat who entered the room and welcod him with a small smile.
"I know you think you’ve made a mistake with the room, but it is, in fact, your room. I also know you’re wondering why your room looks like a testing lab. Please sit on the bed, and I will explain everything."
Akira felt so tension, and so negative thoughts began to attack him one after another.
He was staring at the young man with attention, cunning, and fear. The young man felt this, so he left the equipnt he was fiddling with and turned to Akira, saying in a calm and frank tone, "Don’t be afraid. I will explain everything to you now. Please sit on the bed."
Akira cautiously walked to the bed and didn’t say a word. He sat on the bed and waited in silence for what would happen. After a full minute of silence, the young man, who had been fiddling with the computer the whole ti, spoke. "I will explain everything to you now."
Akira nodded his head. The young man continued, "In order to use the super-suit, you need so modifications to adapt to it, so that your body does not break with its power. That is why I will perform a small operation that will make you able to do so."
"And what is this operation?" Akira said with skepticism.
The young man replied, "I will make so modifications to your genes. I will add so abilities to you that your body could never have comprehended before."
"And I refuse to let you tamper with my body and add whatever you want!"
The young man sighed with weariness. "Please understand that this is for your own good and for the good of humanity. Also, the abilities you will possess will be of benefit to you in eliminating the robots, and you will not be able to go outside without these modifications. Believe , you will perish. My father perished out there, and after learning the reasons, my team and I conducted many tests until we found out how you can survive outside. This is not a ga, sir. There are hideous things waiting for you outside to tear you apart. And believe , I am doing this for your own good. Rember well why you volunteered for the army."
Akira was silent and thought for a little while. He felt anger coursing through him as soon as he rembered the sight of his wife dying. After a few seconds, he woke up from his daydream. "And what are you going to add to my body? At least I have the right to know!"
