Now reading: Chapter 135 - 110: Iron Fist Exorcism from Lord of Prayer, a Sci-fi novel by Sea is Water.

The first to act was Titan, a battle-hardened instructor from the Raven Legion.

Beneath his helt, a deep crimson light erupted from his eyes as a Killing Intent Illusion enveloped the four mbers of Fallen Paradise. It was as if a boundless, silent wasteland had descended upon them. Scarlet blood spread across the land, flowing slowly like the surface of the sea.

The setting sun was the color of blood, and a sanguine rain fell from the sky. Hills of piled corpses rose from the scarlet water, their bases completely subrged. The desperate wails of countless people on the brink of death echoed through the air. Amidst the devastation, only cruel, unrelenting death spread.

An instructor for the Raven Legion, Titan had fought in at least nine massive campaigns against the Abyss, staring death in the face every single ti. The countless other battles, large and small, went without saying. He was an Ascender who had truly clawed his way out of a hell of piled corpses and flowing blood.

Forged in blood and fire, his power had long ago reached a terrifying level.

A bone-chilling killing intent ravaged every soul. Mists of blood erupted from Gentleman and Lover as they plumted from the sky like broken rag dolls. Their spirits shattered and their Life Force rapidly drained away. The gap in their strength was so imnse, they couldn’t even withstand the initial assault.

Titan charged straight for the Fallen Paradise mber codenad Violet. His Essence surged, materializing the Alchemy Armant stored within his soul.

A steel hand grasped a nacing Jet Axe. As flas shot from its engine vents, he brought it cleaving down on Violet, who was montarily stunned by the Killing Intent Illusion.

At the critical mont, a tallic light shone from Violet’s body, instantly forming a hollow, rhombic tal shell that encased her for protection.

CLANG! Sparks flew. Struck by the brute force of the blow, the rhombic tal shell shot downward like a cannonball. It slamd into the ground with a thunderous crash, embedding itself deep. A long, deep gash was visible on its top surface.

Inside the rhombic shell, blood trickled from Violet’s nose and mouth. Having finally shaken off the initial shock of the killing intent, she deactivated her defense. A seductive pink glow lit up in her eyes, enveloping the entire area.

But a hardened veteran like Titan, who had erged from a hell of piled corpses and flowing blood, was not so easily bewitched. His Willpower was like iron, and he remained completely unmoved.

Flas flared from his Exoskeleton Armor. Propelled by its booster system, he plumted from the sky like a teor, swinging the Mad Axe down at Violet’s head.

Seeing that her power had no effect, Violet scrambled to dodge. Even so, the axe still tore a large chunk of flesh from her left arm, leaving it a bloody ss.

She was not skilled in close-quarters combat, let alone against an Ascender like Titan, whose martial prowess had been honed to its absolute peak.

The next second, with a sharp WHOOSH, the axe, wreathed in blood-red flas, sliced through the air. But Violet had vanished, leaving only her jacket to be rcilessly shredded by the blade.

A pair of small, winged boots materialized on Violet’s feet. She rapidly retreated on a surging gale of wind. At the sa ti, a strange Music Box appeared in her hand, causing Titan’s expression to shift.

—Forbidden Object B-019: Enchanting Sound!

This was an extrely dangerous Forbidden Object. Once activated, it would emit hypnotic Enchanting Music that spread continuously. If left unchecked, it could lull an entire city to sleep. Even a Tier Four Ascender had to be wary of it.

"I reckon this Music Box is broken!"

At the critical mont, Anna used the Book of My Thoughts. A stream of light shot out from its pages and landed on B-019, the Enchanting Sound.

When Violet furiously twisted the wind-up key and released it, the Music Box didn’t play. Instead, there was the faint sound of jamming gears. If one listened closely, they could hear the cogs straining and groaning like a constipated person, desperately trying to start moving again.

—As they were both high-Status Forbidden Objects, the Book of My Thoughts couldn’t destroy Enchanting Sound completely, only suppress it temporarily.

But that was more than enough.

"I reckon you two should go fight sowhere else."

Another stream of light flew out, enveloping Titan and Violet. In the next instant, they vanished, reappearing on a distant city street.

The high-level combatants had to be separated. Otherwise, the collateral damage to the other team mbers would be devastating.

anwhile, the coarse man codenad Chariot regained consciousness. Pure golden flas erupted around him, forming four steeds of fire that quickly coalesced into the outline of a massive chariot.

Red-hot molten iron poured over the outline, spreading until it solidified into a brilliant Gold chariot that radiated a blazing, majestic corona.

—Forbidden Object B-036: the Helios Sun Tank!

In ancient mythology, this was the vehicle of the Sun God. Legend tells of this Sun God riding a chariot, pulled by four fiery steeds, across the sky each day. He would travel from east to west, rising at dawn and setting at dusk, bringing light to the World.

If the true Sun Tank existed, it would undoubtedly be a relic of the Gods. However, the Helios Sun Tank before them was not the one from the myths. It was an Alchemy Armant forged many years ago by the Dawn Church in the image of the legendary vehicle. For so reason, it was later reclassified as a Forbidden Object.

It was later stolen amidst the chaos of the Night of the Sun’s Fall, several decades ago.

And that thief was none other than Chariot.

Father Daun shot it a cold glance. He wanted to intervene but held himself back, his gaze fixed on a terrifying presence within the Cursed Black Sea.

"I reckon you must be an idiot!"

Anna cried out. A stream of light shot from the book and struck Chariot. The coarse, middle-aged man’s face imdiately went slack, and he was reduced to a babbling fool.
