Now reading: Chapter 16: Seed Prince from Lord of the Frozen Winter: Starting with Daily Intelligence Reports, a Action novel by 豆浆配牛排.

Jack was originally just a small seed rchant from the south, barely making a living by selling grain and fruit seeds.

Although his life wasn't rich, he at least had enough to eat and drink.

Until a few months ago, he heard a fellow rchant bragging in a tavern:

After the Northern Territory Reclamation Order was issued, many nobles flocked to the Northern Territory for reclamation, creating an enormous demand for seeds, with supply far from eting demand!

This bit of news stirred his heart.

You see, there were as many seed rchants in the south as horse manure by the roadside; hundreds of people fought over one piece of cake, making it incredibly difficult to earn big money.

But the Northern Territory was different; it was said to be barren and desolate there, and seeds were hard to co by, so as long as the goods arrived, there would be no problem selling them!

"This is a chance to get rich!"

Jack excitedly exchanged all the savings he had accumulated over the years for seeds.

He loaded up his small cart and rushed to the Northern Territory without stopping, dreaming of getting rich overnight.

However, the mont he stepped into Frost Halberd City, he was completely stunned.

"This, isn't this the largest city in the Northern Territory?"

The city was dilapidated, the streets were muddy, and the pedestrians were shabbily dressed, each looking weary, with no sign of prosperity or business opportunities.

Jack's heart sank, and an ominous feeling crept into his mind.

"It's over, I won't lose everything, will I?!"

But since he was already there, he couldn't just return empty-handed.

So, he bit the bullet and found an empty spot on the east side of the market to set up his small stall.

"Are you Jack, the seed seller?"

Before he could even set up his goods, three knights rode up, still dusty from their journey, their armor covered in mud, and their expressions sowhat eager.

Jack was startled, his heart pounding.

Why did they know his na?

Could it be that his reputation as the "Little Seed Prince" had spread from the Central Province to the Northern Province?!

But visitors were guests, so he quickly straightened his back, cleared his throat, and was about to introduce his goods.

"What do you gentlen need? My shop has potatoes, rye, oats, wheat..."

The leading knight directly interrupted him: "We'll take it all."

"Wh-what?" Jack looked shocked, suspecting he had misheard.

"We'll take it all. How much?"

Now Jack was truly dumbfounded.

Are people from the Northern Territory all this generous?!

Jack's mind raced, calculating how much he could sell this batch of goods for...

Finally, he feigned hesitation for a mont, then held up five fingers: "Since you'll take it all, I'll give you a discount. Five gold coins."

Five gold coins!

In the south, a bag of potato seeds cost only two iron coins, and the cost of all the seeds in his cart combined was less than one gold coin!

Jack was already prepared to be haggled down, even planning to lower the price further if they weren't happy.

"Good."

To his surprise, the leading knight didn't even listen; he simply pulled five gold coins from his pouch and casually tossed them to him.

Then, he and the other two knights quickly packed up all his seeds and left in a hurry.

Jack was left standing there, clutching five heavy gold coins in his hand, completely dumbfounded.

As the cold wind blew, he finally realized that his stall had been completely cleared out.

He quickly lowered his head to examine the gold coins, flipping through them one by one, confirming that they were all real.

Real... all real!

The next second, an ecstatic emotion surged through him, and Jack nearly jumped up.

"I'm rich!!!"

The cost of his seeds plus the travel expenses to the Northern Territory was less than one gold coin, and now he had directly profited four gold coins!

And he had done almost nothing!

Is doing business in the Northern Territory really this easy?!

Jack gripped the gold coins, his mind already rapidly sketching out his next plan.

This was just the beginning!

If he went back and wholesaled a few hundred more bags of seeds to sell, wouldn't he be able to earn hundreds of gold coins?!

Thinking of this, Jack's lips curled into a ninety-degree smile.

The Northern Territory was simply a gold mine!

He was going to go back and get a loan to beco the Northern Territory's number one seed rchant!

Of course, he didn't know that among the seeds he had just sold were Frost Blood Red Berry seeds, which could sell for over a thousand gold coins.

Otherwise, he would have been filled with regret.

As for the story of him later losing everything, that's a tale for another ti.

..........

Just as Lambert was rushing back to Red Tide Territory with the seeds, Louis was riding his horse, inspecting the progress of planting in the farmlands.

In the fields, farrs were busily sowing seeds, the sounds of hoes turning the soil rising and falling.

Wherever Louis went, the farrs {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} stopped their work and respectfully bowed.

But unlike other noble territories, the farrs here had no humble fear in their eyes; instead, there was a kind of heartfelt respect.

Especially the laborers who were forrly slaves; their eyes, when they looked at Louis, held a fervent glow.

They yearned for their efforts to be noticed by their lord, thus earning a chance for freedom!

Louis saw all of this but did not show too much emotion.

After all, in his opinion, there was no difference between slaves and freen; both were the workhorses of Red Tide Territory.

Moreover, the current system motivated these people to work harder, and he was not in a hurry to change it.

When the ti was right, he might consider more stable asures to free the slaves, but for now, they had to prove their worth.

At this mont, Mick walked over, leaning on his hoe, his face beaming with unconcealed joy.

"My Lord!" Mick wiped the sweat from his forehead, his wrinkles creasing with his smile, "The effect of these fertilizers is truly excellent! We will definitely have a good harvest this year!"

Louis glanced at the tilled fields and found that the soil was indeed moist and soft, and dark in color, clearly having absorbed sufficient nutrients.

He nodded slightly: "What are the first crops?"

"Rye, turnips, potatoes," Mick imdiately replied, "These crops are cold-resistant and mature quickly; as long as nothing unexpected happens, we can expect the first harvest in three months!"

Louis nodded in agreent.

Rye could be ground into coarse grain, and turnips could be used as both vegetables and livestock feed.

And potatoes were even easier to plant and harvest, could be stored for a long ti, and were the most suitable crop for ergency food.

Although so areas of Red Tide Territory had geothermal heating, making them much better than other lands in the Northern Territory, not all land was suitable for intensive agriculture.

To be safe, prioritizing the planting of these cold-resistant crops was the most reasonable choice.

But this was far from enough to satisfy Louis's ambition.

Once greenhouse cultivation technology was perfected, he would plant more types of crops to completely solve the food problem of Red Tide Territory.

Louis stood quietly on the ridge, his gaze sweeping over the land before him.

The fertile black soil shimred under the sunlight, and the busy figures of the farrs intertwined, sowing the hope for Red Tide Territory's future.

This originally barren frozen land was slowly being imbued with vitality under his planning.

Louis felt an indescribable sense of accomplishnt in his heart.
