Now reading: Chapter 1144 1144: Eight from Lord of the Truth, a Action novel by TruthTeller.

Three Months Later—

"….." Robin's eyes remained wide open, unblinking, while his lips bore nurous bite marks, so fresh and others barely healed. He continued reading the page before him, so engrossed that even if Pythor himself or the impatient woman stord in at that very mont, he wouldn't even notice.

The royal garnts he had entered the cave wearing had long lost their luster; once pristine, they had faded into a dull, worn-out state. His chin was now covered in an unkempt layer of stubble, while his long hair —once arranged neatly with a regal elegance— had beco a tangled ss, each strand rebelling in a different direction.

Scratch Scratch

Absentmindedly, Robin dragged his nails across his scalp, his fingers longer and sharper than before. He paid no attention to the thin trickle of blood now running down his forehead.

"Hm?"

He flipped the page and instinctively reached for the next one— only to find empty space.

"…No. No, no, no… That's it?!"

Robin abruptly stood up, his movents jerky and frantic. His gaze darted around in a wild search, checking beneath the chair, around the desk, even flipping through the book once more in desperation—yet no matter where he looked, no new pages materialized.

"…Damn it…"

For a mont, he stood frozen. Then, after an exasperated sigh, a crooked smile ford on his lips.

"Heh~ Well, no matter."

Slowly, he sat back down, inhaling deeply to steady himself. Without hesitation, he reached for the first page once again.

(Stop right there!!) Evergreen's sharp voice cut through the silence. (Are you seriously about to waste another three months rereading the sa book?! Sure, I'd love to see you delay your trip to Nehari's Planet Spirit even further, but this is just absurd!)

"...…"

Robin exhaled, returning the page to its place before gently rubbing his tired eyes.

"You're right. This should wait for a better ti."

(…Did you at least get close to mastering the Master Law of Balance?) Evergreen asked, her voice caught between frustration and reluctant hope.

"Close?" Robin let out a low chuckle and shook his head. "I haven't even started. What did you expect from the Comprehensive Eye Truth?"

(W-What?! You an to tell you wasted three whole months for nothing?!) Evergreen shrieked, grasping her horns in disbelief.

"Of course not," Robin said, leaning back in his chair. "This book contains the Second Truth Chosen's observations after analyzing all these laws. He details how every single law is tied to countless others through impossibly precise ratios and interactions. He argues that if even one of these laws had manifested in a slightly different proportion, the entire cosmic structure would have crumbled like a house of cards. Then, he provides extensive examples of balance in everything around us and thods to test its presence."

(Is that it? …Maybe he's just overcomplicating things. What if Balance isn't even a Master Law?) Evergreen muttered, crossing her arms as she looked away, doubtful.

Robin tapped his fingers on the desk rhythmically before responding.

"Do you rember my conversation with Pythor? Specifically, when the topic of gods was brought up? I told him back then that everything in the universe was crafted with unimaginable precision—woven together in such perfect harmony that I refuse to believe it all ca into existence without a guiding force. This intricate balance… this absolute precision… it deserves to stand alongside Truth and Spaceti. I just didn't fully realize its significance until I read this book."

He exhaled deeply, his voice carrying unwavering conviction.

"There is no doubt in my mind—the Second Truth Chosen was right, this IS a Master Law."

After these words, Robin casually propped his feet onto the table and leaned the back of his head against his hands. To an outsider, it would seem like he was rely staring at the cave walls—but in truth, his gaze reached far beyond them.

The Master Law of Balance—there was no doubt that it was real. But understanding its foundations, defining its principles, and mastering it? That was an imnse challenge. It was, technically speaking, not just a law but the very relationship between all laws.

It was no wonder that the Second Truth Chosen had managed to perceive it after centuries of observing, analyzing, and recording the nature of laws. However, his writings on the subject were incredibly abstract, more akin to distant descriptions rather than solid knowledge. He had outlined the concept from afar, but there were no concrete steps to follow. Yet, Robin couldn't bring himself to bla him. Unlike the Master Law of Spaceti, which had clear properties and observable effects, the Master Law of Balance had an elusive nature, more similar to the Master Law of Truth.

Even if Robin himself attempted to write a book explaining the Law of Truth, he doubted he could produce anything clearer than what was already in his hands. This wasn't sothing that could simply be taught through words. It was sothing that had to be perceived—felt in the very fabric of existence.

But there was one key difference— Truth had chosen him after he understood it. How was he supposed to advance when it ca to the Law of Balance?

And more importantly… What ca next?

Truth, Spaceti, Balance… and that third one… no, rather, the fourth Master Law that had been lingering in his thoughts. How many Master Laws were there? Dozens? Hundreds? …Thousands?!

Robin shook his head slightly.

No—Master Laws couldn't number in the thousands. In fact, they likely didn't even exceed a hundred. No, not even fifty!

If that was the case, should he continue searching for them? And if he did… then what? Would he pass them down to his children? Forge elite legions with their power? Establish an entire faction dedicated to mastering them?

…But would the rest of the universe even allow him to do such a thing?

The re thought made him let out a dry chuckle.

Just possessing a few rged Laws was enough to cause chaos among the galactic powers. Master Laws were on an entirely different level. If he continued down this path… how long before he attracted attention that he wasn't ready to deal with?

Evergreen, who had been silently observing him, suddenly let out a playful chuckle, noticing Robin's deep contemplation.

(Hehe~ Alright, alright, I give up. I was just teasing you to see how much you grasped after reading. Balance is indeed a Master Law— it's one of the eight.)

Thud!

Robin's chair toppled backward as he fell to the floor.

"The eight?! What do you an, eight?!"

(There are only eight Master Laws, no more, no less.) Evergreen raised eight fingers, a knowing smile on her face. (It's not really a secret. This is common knowledge in the Mid-Planetary Belt. After all, throughout history, powerful figures have wielded these laws in legendary ways.)

Robin's mind reeled. "Eight? Only eight Sovereign Laws exist?!"

That was far less than he had expected.

He looked downward for a mont, processing the revelation, before snapping his head back up and shouting, "What are they?!"

(Listen carefully then,) Evergreen said, her tone turning serious. (They are: Truth, Spaceti, Balance, Identity, Creation, Primal Chaos, and Causality.) She crossed her arms. (These laws are known as Master Laws and have been used in monuntal ways at various points in history— but that's all that is truly known. They are revered from a distance, referenced in major academies and great clans as the pinnacle of law mastery, yet no confird location or technique dedicated to fully cultivating any of them has ever been recorded.)

Robin blinked several tis.

That made sense. Even rged Laws were rare and valuable enough to spark major wars. A cultivation thod for a Master Law? That would be beyond comprehension.

But sothing suddenly clicked in his mind.

"Wait… You only listed seven nas!"

Evergreen smirked and lifted a single finger.

(Because the eighth one has never appeared in history. Its properties are unknown. It has never been used, never been nad… It remains one of the greatest mysteries in the universe.)
