Last night had exhausted her.
He instinctively pulled up the corner of the quilt to cover her smooth shoulders.
He leaned down and kissed her forehead before getting out of bed.
After freshening up and changing into his clothes, he prepared to go downstairs.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw a fluffy ball curled up at the entrance.
Perhaps it had also heard the door open, as Prince quickly lifted his head, stood up, and wagged his tail incessantly.
Xing Chen guessed that it missed its owner. Seeing that it was about to bark, he imdiately pressed his finger to his lips in a shushing gesture.
Prince also glanced into the room, discovering with sensitivity that its owner had not yet awakened. It whimpered softly, curled back up at the door with drooped ears, looking listless.
Seeing that it wouldn’t enter, Xing Chen closed the door behind him.
