In short, not just the Wilson family, but the entire Southern Federation all knew that Xing Chen was a doting-wife maniac, and he loved his sons more than his own life!
Even people who wanted to ask Xing Chen for a favor all knew they had to find every possible way to bribe Ran Xiangsi first.
As long as Ran Xiangsi agreed to help, then Xing Chen was no problem at all!
No one knew how many won were green with envy over Ran Xiangsi!
But even so, the two brothers Xing Ye and Xing Yuan were still the most afraid of their father, Xing Chen.
A father’s authority was never sothing to be challenged.
In the eyes of the two brothers, their father was omnipotent, and also strict.
Ran Xiangsi was happy to see it that way.
In most families, mothers usually played the gentle, kind role, while fathers were mostly the silent, stern ones.
But "a father’s love is like a mountain" wasn’t just empty words either.
There had to be soone who could keep those two little devils in line.
Ran Xiangsi, in the end, really couldn’t quite bring herself to be hard on them.
The two of them walked downstairs hand in hand, and the servants had already prepared so food.
Even though it had been made in a very short ti, it was still delicate and delicious, and just looking at it made Ran Xiangsi’s appetite surge.
"Slls so good! I haven’t had authentic hotown dishes from A City in so long!" Ever since Ran Xiangsi learned that her parents were also from A City, she’d felt much more attachnt and nostalgia for this city.
Seeing that she was rarely this interested in food, Xing Chen smiled and picked so dishes out for her. "If you like it, we can bring a few more chefs back in the future."
Ran Xiangsi, however, shook her head. "You can bring people back, but you can’t take these ingredients with you. People are raised by the water and soil of their hotown, and I think it’s the sa with food—local water and soil raise local dishes! Haha!"
Ran Xiangsi joked as she ate the dishes Xing Chen had picked out for her.
Anything she tried and thought tasted good, she would pick up and put into Xing Chen’s bowl in return.
After five years, the couple had long since grown used to this kind of intimacy.
Picking dishes for each other, asking after each other with little cares, chatting about what had happened lately while they ate.
Very ordinary, yet full of warmth.
Xing Chen knew she was quite fond of A City, and that she’d gone to the Southern Federation for his sake and stayed there for five whole years. It had been a grievance for her.
His hand holding the chopsticks paused slightly, and Xing Chen asked her, "Do you want to live in A City?"
"Why are you suddenly asking that?" Ran Xiangsi looked up at him in surprise. "The family is in the Southern Federation, we’re destined to be over there."
Ran Xiangsi didn’t say whether she wanted to or not. She started from reality and cut off all such thoughts directly.
Xing Chen didn’t keep pressing. The deep light that had risen in his eyes quietly hid itself away.
After eating for a while, Ran Xiangsi didn’t feel hungry anymore, so she put down her chopsticks and drank so soup.
"Do you think Xiao Ge and Shang Dongyuan can make it work?"
After thinking about it, Ran Xiangsi was still a little worried about Xiao Ge.
Xiao Ge valued her friends’ feelings very much, but when it ca to her own, she beca muddleheaded. When it ca to romantic feelings between n and won, she didn’t seem to grasp them very clearly.
With her being this slow about relationships, Ran Xiangsi was really afraid Shang Dongyuan would just get mad and run off!
Compared to Ran Xiangsi’s worry, Xing Chen was much more composed.
He understood Shang Dongyuan better than Ran Xiangsi did.
Shang Dongyuan was soone who could spend five years searching for a woman; that ant his feelings had long since taken deep root.
The awkwardness between the two of them now was just a kind of adjustnt period.
Once they got through this period, learned how to compromise with each other and work together, there wouldn’t be any big problems.
Thinking this, Xing Chen said with certainty, "Don’t worry. You should be able to see them standing together tomorrow."
