Langdon Seal said till here, watching Arlo Seys as a bitter smile played at the corner of his mouth, "Do you know what she said?" Langdon paused, then continued in a low voice, "The sentence she said was ’my potted plant’."

To say it wasn’t shocking would be a lie, when Arlo Seys heard Langdon recount how Ariel Morris yearned for him in Dublin, he felt both compassion and pain.
Arlo Seys looked at Langdon, his voice slightly hoarse and rough, "If this is the case, why did she attempt to commit wrist-cut suicide? Why did she leave ? Why did she write a breakup letter?"
These three questions were what he urgently wanted answers to, he did not want these questions to keep them apart, unable to reunite after eight long years.

Langdon took a sip of coffee, looking at Arlo Seys, and asked in a deep voice, "Do you think loving soone that deeply, longing unrelentingly for eight years, why would she suddenly leave? Don’t you think there might be hidden truths you’re unaware of? Arlo Seys, if you were Ariel, if you loved her, but suddenly one day left, under what circumstances would you leave the person you love most?"
