He wanted her to give him her ID card and passport as collateral back then because he was afraid she would disappear like eight years ago, quietly leaving the country.
Without an ID card and passport, she couldn’t go abroad, couldn’t leave City C. To ensure she wouldn’t take these two things, he even locked them in the safe.
Now that he held these two things in his hand, his heart cald down a bit. At least she hadn’t left City C, so finding her would be much easier.
Arlo Seys held the two items and walked out of the house, intending to continue searching for Ariel Morris.
As he walked to the gate and headed towards the car, he noticed a figure swiftly darting behind the nearby Torrington tree.
Arlo’s gaze flickered heavily as he walked toward the Torrington tree at the roadside.
As he approached the Torrington tree, he saw a corner of clothing protruding from behind it. A pure white hem of a dress stood out strikingly even under the dim streetlights.
Arlo’s body trembled slightly, stepping forward cautiously in fear it was just an illusion.
The person hiding behind the tree, hearing the approaching footsteps, was extrely tense, daring not to breathe heavily.
Arlo’s steps drew closer, causing the body of the person behind the tree to tremble slightly.
Arlo’s long figure approached the Torrington tree, circling behind it, and his gaze deepened as he looked at the person crouching there.
Ariel Morris pursed her lips and stood up, avoiding direct eye contact, her head lowered in confusion and panic, "I just ca back to take a look... I’ll leave after one glance, I won’t disturb you..."
Her voice was thick with a nasal tone, her entire body soaked, standing there trembling slightly. Arlo’s gaze deepened, filled only with her figure, seeing nothing else. He stared deeply at her without responding.
His silence made Ariel even more anxious and afraid, her head lowering more and more. When she spoke again, her voice was filled with sobs and trembling restraint, "Arlo... can you not abandon ? I don’t know where to go..."
"Arlo, I have nowhere else to go..."
"I spent eight years to co back to you, can you not abandon ?..."

Ariel finished speaking, standing in place, trembling as she burst into tears.
Her body trembled as she stood in the rain sobbing softly.
Arlo’s heart ached intensely as if being gripped by soone, watching Ariel Morris cry with red eyes.
He took two steps forward, closing in on Ariel, stretching out his long arms to tightly embrace her.

Arlo’s thin lips brushed against Ariel’s forehead, gently, softly, filled with endless affection and deep attachnt.
