The doctor was silent for a mont before speaking, "Madam, since the baby is not fully developed yet, we can’t tell if there is a problem. But Madam, it is certain that there is an issue with your body. We are unsure if you accidentally ingested so dication or sothing else; your recent blood test results show that there is a toxin in your body, and it is chronic."
"Chronic toxin?" Nicole was shocked, turning her head to look at Ariel Morris beside her.
Ariel Morris looked a bit pale, her expression dazed, "How is this possible, I haven’t taken any dicine! How can there be chronic toxin?"
The doctor looked at the agitated Ariel Morris and spoke again, "Madam, we currently cannot identify this toxin, nor can we prescribe targeted dication. If you need, we can draw your blood and send it overseas for a thorough examination, but this might take so ti, and you’ll have to wait a while for the results."
Nicole looked worriedly at the sowhat pale-faced Ariel Morris and turned urgently to the doctor, "Let’s do it today, then, without delay. I hope your hospital can notify us of the test results as quickly as possible."
The doctor nodded and issued a blood draw requisition for Ariel Morris, "Madam, during the ti we wait for the results, if you experience any unusual discomfort, please co to the hospital promptly, as we might be able to help control the condition."
Ariel Morris nodded absentmindedly.
Suring Nicole supported Ariel Morris for the blood sample that was to be sent overseas for testing, they drew over a dozen tubes, and by the end of the process, Ariel Morris looked even paler.
Nicole silently stayed by Ariel Morris’s side, unable to think of any comforting words to say to her.
Once they got in the car, Nicole was just about to start the vehicle when Ariel Morris in the driver’s seat turned her head and said in a deep voice, "Nicole, don’t tell your brother about the toxin in ."
Nicole’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, "Why? Ariel, my brother cares so much about you. If he knew you have toxins in your body, he’d definitely find the best dical team to treat you."
Ariel Morris looked steadily at Nicole, "Precisely because he cares about , telling him now would only make him worry. We don’t have the test results yet, what if nothing is wrong with ? Wouldn’t that make him worry for nothing? When the results are out, if it does turn out to be serious, I’ll tell him. But for now, please help keep it a secret, don’t tell anyone, okay?"
Nicole hesitated, holding the steering wheel and remaining silent.
She knew how much her brother cared for Ariel, and if Ariel didn’t tell him about her condition and if it turned out there really was sothing wrong with her after the results ca out, how devastated would her brother be upon learning the truth?
Seeing the silent and speechless Nicole, Ariel Morris smiled, "Love isn’t a burden—I don’t want Arlo to worry about . Look, I’m lively and spirited now, aren’t I? How about we only share good news and not bad ones just this once? Your brother just beca a father; knowing this bad news would really affect his mood. I’m perfectly fine now, will you grant this once? Please, Nicole."
Unable to resist the plea in her eyes, Nicole lightly nodded with pressed lips, then swiftly looked at Ariel Morris and sternly instructed, "If there’s any discomfort, co to the hospital with for a check-up. I’ll keep it from my brother until the results are out. And if it turns out to be bad news, you must tell my brother!"
"Thank you." Ariel Morris gave Nicole a gentle smile.
Her face bore a soft smile, but her eyes held deep worry and concern.
Where on earth did the toxin co from? She hadn’t taken any dications, so where did the toxin co from?
