Ariel Morris watched Arlo Seys leave, feeling a bit desolate and lost. Arlo Seys had ignored her from beginning to end, which made her feel sowhat uncomfortable. With her hands tucked into the windcoat pockets, she touched the keys Aunt Forest had given her, and a mischievous smile suddenly appeared in her eyes. She stuck her tongue out playfully at Arlo’s departing figure and pressed the elevator close button.

Ariel Morris arrived at the twenty-seventh floor where Era’s artists were based and just stepped out of the elevator when she bumped into Valeria Johnson and another assistant, Martin.
Valeria Johnson didn’t know what had gone wrong today. Her originally sullen face burst into anger when she saw Ariel Morris, and she shouted at her, "Do you have any sense of ti? Late by almost two hours! Ariel Morris! If you don’t want to work, then just get out of Era!"
Since she was indeed late and at fault, Ariel Morris held back and didn’t respond to Valeria’s anger.
"What kind of people does HR hire? Irresponsible people like you co in to be my assistant?" Valeria Johnson snapped, her sharp gaze sweeping coldly over the company employees.
Everyone instinctively looked down when her gaze t theirs, afraid she’d unleash her fury on them. The assistant Martin behind her dared not make a sound for Valeria would often vent her anger on him; he was her scapegoat.
Finally, Valeria’s angry gaze rested on Ariel Morris.
Ariel sighed inwardly, wondering how she had such bad luck. Getting into Era only to fall under Valeria Johnson’s hands! Was the universe deliberately making her life difficult?
Ariel had a calm and unruffled expression, avoiding Valeria’s sharp gaze as she lightly replied, "Miss Johnson, it seems you yourself requested to be your assistant."
Did she want to be Valeria’s assistant? She was wholeheartedly against it!
The other colleagues in the company were astonished, secretly glancing up at this fearless new colleague, daring to talk back to Valeria Johnson, and as a little assistant no less. It was truly a first!
Valeria Johnson was embarrassed on the spot, but what Ariel Morris said was the truth. Being in front of so many people, she couldn’t act overly harsh, so she silently noted this down, stomped her high heels, and angrily walked out.
Ariel Morris let out a sigh of relief and quickly followed her out.

Seeing Valeria Johnson take a break and sipping juice, while the other assistant Martin stood by serving her, Ariel Morris stood up and went to the restroom.
In the restroom cubicle, just as Ariel Morris was about to push open the door to leave, she heard voices outside.
"Hey, what’s the background of that new Assistant Morris? Why does it seem like she has issues with Valeria Johnson?" a female voice chid in.
